Enterprise Bulldogs 2024 Football Preview
choctawman replied to EnterpriseBulldogsFan's topic in Football
I would not refer to Salem and Sweetwater in the same breath. I could care less about Enterprise and the other posters bagering. Sweetwater is one of the most notable programs in Alabama regardless of size. They have won 11 state championships and a lot of those victims were much larger schools. I think they deserve a little more credit than being compared to Salem. Hoover is the only school with more at 12. -
There will be no problems with Deuce. He will graduate in December and be in college in the spring.

The South won 6 out of 7 Championships. East Webster won the only North one in 3A.

Better hope Taylorsville moves up to 2A. I remember the last time CC dropped down to 1A and everyone thought they would dominate. Did not happen.CC is 2-10 in State championships. Won 2 against Bay Springs in 89 and 16 as a 2A. None in 1A. 03 against Taylorsville and got killed in all of them.

Best teams that you have personally seen in Each classification.

I am fairly old and I have seen a lot of high school football. I lived and worked in Taylorsville in their golden years. This would be the 90's and early 2000's. My 2 sons played their and both played on state championship teams. I watched a lot of 2A football during this time and since. The best 2A team that I have seen would be the 1995 Tartars coach by Marcus Boyles. Great football team with no weaknes. They could play with any one and did. They were 15-0,averaged 43.8 pts on offense, gave up 6.3 pts on defense. Some notable wins were West Jones 48-0, Franklin Co. 41-6, Calhoun City 35-6 in championship game. -
Not that way in the 90's. Taylorsville and Mize had 1 board member. Raleigh had 3. I worked in district, that's how it was.

Hamer Morgan will probably get job. He and Judd have been together before. They were together at Forest and Judd left for Clinton and Hamer got the Job.

He will not be living in Petal either. He bought a home on Lake Eddins before he retired from Petal the first time. He was 30 minutes from Meridian, will be one hour from Petal. Lake Eddins is in Pachuta, Ms.

Russ Robinson on his scoreboard show said PBS will carry the games.

PBS will carry the games.

CC is just glad that Taylorsville is not around.

It has nothing to do with odd or even numbers. If both teams are odd numbers regions such as 1 and 3, then 1 hosts, next year it would be 3. both of these are odd numbers. Lower number this year, higher number next.
-
It is not even and odd, it is lower and higher. This year it is lower. If region 1 and 2 were playing , 1 would host. Next year it will be higher number.
-
If Coach can beat Pearl it will be his 300th win. This is his 28th season and that would average out to be 10.7 wins a year. I have known him a long time and I hope he can get it.

Raleigh and Mize were 2nd in their region.

In the early nineties Raleigh was 3A, Taylorsville 2A and Mize 1A. In either 94 or 95 All 3 teams played for a State championship. Taylorsville and Mize won, Raleigh was beaten by a great Amory team coached by Bobby Hall. Taylorsville beat both badly in regular season play. I am assuming all 3 won their district races. Marcus Boyles was at Taylorsville, Charles Ray Lee at Mize and Durwood Anderson at Raleigh. I just researched it and this is what I found. Raleigh and Mize finished 2nd in their district, Taylorsville was one in theirs and undefeated. Raleigh was 2nd to Forest coached by Jack French, Mize finished 2nd to Mt. Olive coached by Terrell Luckey. Mt. Olive was undefeated in regular season but lost to Salem in the 2nd round. Mize beat Salem in the 3rd round and then beat Weir in the finals. Taylorsville beat Calhoun City and I will always say that either the 94 or 95 team was the best 2 A I have seen and I have seen a lot of them. I will go with the 95 team. Here are their numbers. 15-0, 60+ (1) game, 50+ (3), 40+ (6), 30+ (4), and 20+ (1). They beat Mize 44-0, Raleigh 50-8, and West Jones 48-0. taylorsville
