Definitely gonna be some upset folks. The SEC has so many deep / rich rivalries it’s a hard list to make
-
That is something I’ve noticed too . Since the portal has blown up it feels like teams are having more hiccups than usual. Which is strange because the talent at lower level schools are getting funneled to the top programs. Goes to show how important chemistry and culture is

Lot of good games this week. I’m with you I think this feels like a game Ole Miss will drop, and then they’ll turn around and prolly beat LSU in 2 weeks. Just how OM football trends SCAR-Vandy is my upset of the week pick Not SEC but USF-Miami is another game to keep an eye on, I think the odds makers are out of their minds making them a 17.5 underdog again
-
Also be on the lookout for USF-Florida this weekend. USF played absolutely lights out against Boise State. Don’t expect a 17.5 underdog to win but it’s certainly not an easy win for Florida
-
Couldn’t watch the 2nd half of their game due to espn having problems. But they looked sloppy, especially with penalties. If both of us don’t clean up on penalties it’s gonna be a hard watch next week. But still, they’re one of the most lethal teams in the country when they want to be, for example the peach bowl against Texas last year. I know it’s been 9 months since then but u gotta believe that’s still in them with how much they’ve returned
-
They replaced Skattebo with someone who may be just as good. They should be better than they were last year. Definitely a dark horse for the national title this year
-
Ole Miss SHOULD win every game on their schedule besides Georgia and that’s still a very winnable game. You have Florida, SC and LSU at home which is huge. But, nothing ever goes smooth for the Rebs

College Football Playoff Thread

Watching Ohio State and Tennessee looked like a 7a playing a 3a team. The talent disparity was just too much. Which is bizarre to say considering it’s Tennessee. Don’t see anyone beating this Ohio State team -
With the first stage closed I can’t confidently say the roster situation for State is any better this upcoming year. I would say a win this year would be finding your Qb of the future and an identity on defense. The schedule is a little nicer to us so we may see 4 wins instead of 2, but we’ll probably be in a similar situation to this year. I just don’t see a breakthrough possible with this roster yet
-
I’m definitely Mississippi biased, but having Kamario Taylor signed should comfort our qb worries. Anyone else after that is great, but Taylor’s our most reliable outcome for the future
-
Jackson Arnold realistically had no chance to succeed with the conditions OU gave him. Completely new OLine, bad OC hire, multiple WR injuries. Can’t say Starkville will treat him much better if but it would be a great spot to restart with smaller expectations

College Football Weekly News

Sounds like State’s in the running for Jackson Arnold. But I think everyone’s bought in on MVB. Would be kind of an uncomfortable situation if Lebby lands him -
This feels like a game Hugh wins. Then expect a blowout loss to UL Monroe followed by a A&M or Bama upset
-
Don’t be surprised if he’s sitting in the row of finalists in December
-
Defensive atrocity aside. Skattebo is heisman worthy
-
Cal preps: [2024] Mize (MS) 35 (95%) [2024] Enterprise (MS) 10 (5%)

Both teams seem to rely on talent way too much. No reason for either of those rosters to be a first round exit. Not just a first round exit, absolutely embarrassed in games they were favored in against teams that barely clawed their way into a playoff spot This Goes to show just how Sirianni’s coordinators did all the work in their super-bowl run last season. He should be jobless
-
If the Eagles get someone from the Shanahan tree, this league is in trouble. Don’t think that offensive system could even win at Meridian high
-
Regardless, winners find a way to win. Washington also had one of the most difficult schedules. Great hire for Bama. Now the question is who is brought it in at DC
-
Speechless. Lane should be expecting a phone call any minute now
-
Washington’s settled in, and has also found out how bad JJ is. This 2nd half should be a a lot closer Also, hate to say it but DJ should probably be pulled. He’s clearly in pain
-
They had an opportunity to prove a point. Georgia had an argument that they were snubbed as well, did they quit and embarrass themselves? No. Those who say it this was a “meaningless game”. It clearly wasn’t meaningless to Georgia. This is not how you handle adversity as a program. Absolutely embarrassing for FSU
-
I get your point. I agree with them being a tier 2 team along with LSU & OM. Will they ever be favored against Bama or Georgia? Doubt it. But they have a legitimate chance to beat either of them and could possibly put together an elite One-and-done team such as LSU did and win it all. I’m not projecting that to happen, (or to be as good as the 2020 LSU team) but there’s a possibility for them capture a natty if the stars align
-
Obviously this seasons success will be hard to top considering their previous success. But Looking at their schedule for next year, there’s a big possibility they finish with another 10 win Regular Season again. I can see them being a consistent 8-10 win season program for the next 5 years atleast

What a season for Mizzou. With only 2 losses to Jayden Daniels & Georgia and a win over Ohio State, I believe they have legitimately proved to be a SEC powerhouse
