Daniel Hill’s a truck. Hope his brother sticks with State. Wasn’t their father a freakishly good player too??

Nobody won in Gainesville today

Hate to say it but this Ole Miss team just doesn’t have the talent this year to compete with Georgia. I got Georgia rushing for 150+ and winning by 2 TDs. But, Lane Kiffin can out coach anybody on any given day. He’s the X-Factor here. But as a safe pick, I got UGA 35 - OM 21 Bama -7.5 is an accurate spread. Bama keeps on rolling 40-30 State - Florida. The OLine injuries killed States offense against A&M. I think States 1 good recruiting class from being in the middle tier of SEC teams. Next year will be the blossom year for State. With this game being at the swamp, and Florida looking better lately, Florida 24 State 14 Mizzou -1.5 at Auburn. Last weeks game may have imploded this Auburn team. Apparently there’s also been a lot of drama around one of the captains being released from the team. Hugh’s time in Auburn may be done. Mizzou 28- Auburn 14 Upset of the week - SCAR over OU

That’s Rhule’s Alma mater. But still, don’t think he’s a better candidate than Golesh or Matt Campbell. And you’re right, I would consider Cignetti untouchable at this point. Also haven’t seen anyone saying this guys name yet anywhere, but what Clark Lea’s doing right now is special. That guy definitely deserves his name in the hat

This Georgia-Auburn is pure comedy
-
Idk I remember those Jamal Peters Bassfield teams were top 10 in the state. Taylorsville had some elite years too
-
I saw somewhere that Mateer may try to come back this week. Not sure how accurate that is but if he does I’m taking OU I think this game looks similar to last week for Bama. Get gashed a couple times by Ahmad Hardy but eventually settle in and hold them to under 20. Now that Bama has somewhat of a run game they’re essentially unstoppable now. Bama controls the ball and wins 35-17 I know better than to make a pick on a game where Hugh Freeze is coaching in Jordan Hare against a top 10 opponent

Saints are without a doubt the worst financial managers in the league. Instead of just trying to tank and relieve the cap situation they just want to keep patching it by restructuring contracts every year or throwing money away at players like Taysom Hill, Derek Carr or a 35 year old Cam Jordan. They’re paying the price now But the good news is you’ll probably end up with Ty Simpson pretty soon
-
A&M at -16.5? I haven’t watched A&M this year but that seems a little dramatic. Cant let last week lose u this game if you’re State. This is a big test for how resilient Lebby’s teams can be. I got A&M 34-28 Vandy-Bama is gonna be a shootout. I got Vandy rushing for 200+ but Ty Simpson and that WR core are just too much of a mismatch on the other side. Bama 42-35 Arch has gotten some tune-up games under his belt now but still doesn’t look great. Lagway hasn’t been up to par either but I think that’s a result of him barely practicing this year. I expect Lagway to get better as the year goes on. But Texas has a great team to compensate for their QB struggle. I got Texas 18-12
-
Tennessee’s better than the 15 beside their name. Regardless Good teams win Great teams cover
-
State gets OM, Bama, and Vandy. Vandy’s a little surprising but overall can’t be too upset abt those 3 Ole Miss get Oklahoma? Figured Ole Miss had 5 candidates with LSU, State, Ark, Tenn, and Vandy. So getting OU is definitely a surprise According to this
-
They played those last couple runs well except the one where a 200 lb qb dragged a 390 lb DT 10 yards for the dagger
-
Tough situation for Sam Pittman. Already on the hot seat and then you’re 2 fluke plays from beating Ole Miss and a tough Memphis team in their own stadiums. Now the rest of your schedule is just misery and despair
-
How bad Clemson plays with this roster is beyond me
-
I think they had 10 seconds left when we called timeout? Enough time for a shot play for sure
-
Ended up being a false start. Enterprise blocked the kick as time expired 21-18
-
Definitely gonna be some upset folks. The SEC has so many deep / rich rivalries it’s a hard list to make
-
That is something I’ve noticed too . Since the portal has blown up it feels like teams are having more hiccups than usual. Which is strange because the talent at lower level schools are getting funneled to the top programs. Goes to show how important chemistry and culture is
-
Lot of good games this week. I’m with you I think this feels like a game Ole Miss will drop, and then they’ll turn around and prolly beat LSU in 2 weeks. Just how OM football trends SCAR-Vandy is my upset of the week pick Not SEC but USF-Miami is another game to keep an eye on, I think the odds makers are out of their minds making them a 17.5 underdog again
-
Also be on the lookout for USF-Florida this weekend. USF played absolutely lights out against Boise State. Don’t expect a 17.5 underdog to win but it’s certainly not an easy win for Florida
-
Couldn’t watch the 2nd half of their game due to espn having problems. But they looked sloppy, especially with penalties. If both of us don’t clean up on penalties it’s gonna be a hard watch next week. But still, they’re one of the most lethal teams in the country when they want to be, for example the peach bowl against Texas last year. I know it’s been 9 months since then but u gotta believe that’s still in them with how much they’ve returned
-
They replaced Skattebo with someone who may be just as good. They should be better than they were last year. Definitely a dark horse for the national title this year
-
Ole Miss SHOULD win every game on their schedule besides Georgia and that’s still a very winnable game. You have Florida, SC and LSU at home which is huge. But, nothing ever goes smooth for the Rebs

College Football Playoff Thread

Watching Ohio State and Tennessee looked like a 7a playing a 3a team. The talent disparity was just too much. Which is bizarre to say considering it’s Tennessee. Don’t see anyone beating this Ohio State team -
With the first stage closed I can’t confidently say the roster situation for State is any better this upcoming year. I would say a win this year would be finding your Qb of the future and an identity on defense. The schedule is a little nicer to us so we may see 4 wins instead of 2, but we’ll probably be in a similar situation to this year. I just don’t see a breakthrough possible with this roster yet
