Cignetti took one of the worst P4 programs and turned it into the best team in the country in year 2. Unbelievable
-
Best resume in football. And they’re playing the hottest team rn. They’ve paid their dues. Keep em in
-
Southern Miss would be a good spot for Hugh to reset and breathe
-
Arnett has been in the mix for DC candidates in the SEC. I think he was a solid DC at State. Good hire if true
-
Good hire for Penn State. Bout time somebody got him out of there
-
I think we’re 2 years from seeing the best football from Deboer and Grubb. I know they get to field 5 stars everywhere but they all don’t fit the system yet. Something interesting to note, arguably their 3 most important players offensively outside of Ty Simpson all came from Washington. Germie Bernard(4*) , Parker Brailsford(3*) , Josh Cuevas (no stars).

Penn State so far has 2 signees and 0 commits
-
50-60 new guys sounds pretty realistic for portal heavy teams nowadays
-
247 has us ranked 25th overall rn? Strange considering there’s only 3 blue chips I have faith in Lebby for getting a good portal class. Gonna be a lot easier to sell this year considering we actually showed signs of life this year

I’m on the unpopular side of opinions regarding that situation. Ole Miss has a legitimate chance at a title if they let him coach the playoffs. So why not? I’m not familiar with a situation like this so I’m not seeing the downsides in letting him finish out. I doubt he threatened Carter. He’s gonna take his players and coaches regardless of what happens

I expected fans to be emotional but man. It’s 2025 and we still get this upset about a guy making a lateral move? Low Tier SEC team to Blueblood program. Anything less than a thank you is kinda selfish
-
So is the OC spot favoring Judge? I guess there’s no point in sticking around if you’re Weiss
-
Man Ole Miss looked good. Best offense in the country right now. The QB and Receivers are on another level of timing and execution. Everybody’s worried about where Lanes going, meanwhile he could actually win a national championship with this team

Rivalry Week makes for hard predictions OM -7.5 @ State: I just can’t visualize a scenario where Ole Miss can’t run the ball and control this game. If State wasn’t completely inept defensively I’d take us with all the drama going on. Hoping this to be the best atmosphere all year in Starkville. And that’s a tough task because Arizona State and Texas were electric. But I just can’t pick State to win this game. Ole Miss 28 - State 20 Georgia -13.5 @ Ga Tech: This will look like the Georgia - Miss State game IMO. Ga tech has some ballers on the offensive side of the ball and they will score. But they may be worse off than State defensively. Georgia is one of the hottest teams atm. 42-28 Georgia A&M -2.5 @ Texas: A&M showed they can collapse against Scar. If they collapse against Texas there’s no coming back. Arch is balling right now. It’s hard to go undefeated in this era in the SEC. I think this is that game where A&M stumbles Texas 42 Texas A&M 30 Bama -5.5 @ Auburn: this has black magic written all over it. Auburn has the talent to win this game. They’re better off with Duece Knight but I think Daniel’s is starting. That hurts them. I think Bama stays down in this game until the 4th and come back to win 24-17 Vandy @ Tenn -2.5: this is the toughest game to pick IMO. Expect a shootout. Give me Tenn 42 Vandy 35 LSU @ OU -10.5: MVB has been struggling and now he’s facing arguably a top 3 defense. Don’t see a path of victory for LSU here. OU 24 - LSU 10 Ohio State -9.5 @ Michigan: This game is always one of the strangest. I think Ryan Day lets his ego get involved and plays into Michigans style of play. If he would just turn this into a track meet I think he wins last years game and dominates this one. Michigan will not score 20 on this defense. I can’t pick against Ohio State this year. Ohio State 30- Michigan 14

Having 2010s Big 12 flashbacks
-
Last year was just a matter of disaster on the offensive side. Injuries + Jackson Arnold + Bad OC hire. Moving forward OU should contend just about every year
-
Can’t believe Lane & grown up Bobby Hill were able to go for 400+ on OU’s defense. Venables is a mastermind
-
As far as week 13 goes. We have a very rare instance in which the Big 10 actually has a meaningful game this year : Indiana - Oregon Mich - OSU next week. But now we have USC @ Oregon -10.5. Haven’t seen either team play this year. Hoping Oregon eliminates USC from playoff contention so another SEC team can get in. Oregon 30 - USC 15 - 6.5 Oklahoma - Mizzou. OU shuts down Ahmad Hardy and wins 24-9 Tennessee -3.5 at Florida. This is a suspect line. Vegas must know something. Give me Florida 35-28 Arkansas at Texas -9.5. The rivalry’s back. Arkansas keeps this game close but Texas wins in a shootout. Texas 45- Ark 38 Upset of the week: Kentucky beats Vandy 17-14 and ends Vandy playoff hopes

I think Lane genuinely doesn’t know what to do. We gotta remember he’s human too with more pressure on him than 99% of the population can even comprehend. One of his former players told me he’s a little neurodivergent so he may not fully understand how he’s appearing to the public about this situation haha
-
I think a win vs Auburn clinches a spot for them. There’s no way to overlook their resume for 3 losses.
-
And yet he’s doing more with less this year. Yea he hasn’t won anything yet. But ask every single opponent’s coach who they’re worried about when they play Ole Miss. It’s Lane Kiffin. He’s the best play caller in the game and a heck of a recruiter. No doubt in my mind he’s gonna have 2 more rings on his fingers by the time he retires
-
I’m with you. This rebuilds gonna have to be built off players like Brenan Thompson. 3 Star gems. That’s a tough task but Lebby’s shown he can find them. If we can be ranked next year then the 4 stars will start rolling in. Right now I’m on board with Lebby. I believe he can find an OLine and find some solid receivers. The thing that’ll make or break his time in Starkville is finding a DC who can atleast be an average SEC defense
-
I get that you’re not being dealt the best cards for Hutzler. But giving up that much in big SEC games is abysmal. He’s done a fine job creating turnovers this year in the backend with all the nonstop disguises and blitzes. Still that’s not gonna get it done. There’s no possible way State can win football games with that defense. There’s still a way to bring hope into next year by playing Ole Miss tough. Kiffin’s offenses don’t travel well compared to their home games. Let Kamario take the lead and if you lose by 1 score then you finish the year with a B- grade. let’s be real here. State’s punched well above their weight in a couple games this year. We can’t let this absolute landslide of a final stretch overshadow that. I think regardless of how the egg bowl goes u gotta be excited for year 3 hoping the same improvement from last year shows up again next year
-
Back to back 300 yard rushing games given up. Ark ran for 240 too. That’s an immediate firing at any other SEC school. They’ll probably mark it down as a personnel issue to keep Hutzler around another year
-
They did. I fully expect them to drop to around #9 and move behind Georgia in the SEC rankings. But with the expanded playoff I think it’s more about who can pop at the right time. A lot like the NFL. Think of the Chiefs. Doesn’t matter if they’ve lost 6 games in the regular season. They’ll be favored against almost everyone in the playoffs. Ohio State last year, lost to Oregon and Michigan but we knew they have the ability to pop because they’re so talented with elite coaching. I think Bama fits that mold
