Playing independent in football would be a nightmare scheduling wise. After September 99% of teams are playing region games. And who would want to play independently knowing that before the season that you have no shot at competing for a playoff spot?

Its pretty much all grown talent from there. I have a nephew at sumrall who will be a senior this coming yr and pretty much all the boys on the baseball team are players I have seen him grow up with since they were old enough to start playing ball. Even though hes not on the team I can confirm that is homegrown talent that has played a lot of travel ball together.

First it was UALR winning the Hattiesburg Regional as a 4 seed. And pouring salt in the wound is Troy hosting UALR in a super regional. Of all the regionals Southern Miss has made, including the few they won, the one last week was probably the easiest one they had to get to Omaha. If Southern Miss has another regular season/tournament championship and 40 win season next year Southern Miss officials would be better off not putting in a bid to host and letting them travel. Hosting again would only be added pressure to them.

What does that even mean? I have never even heard of it

Baseball is totally different than football or basketball when it comes to referring to schools as a P4 or mid major. There's a lot of P4 talent playing at those mid major schools.

Yes they did unfortunately. There are 3 teams left now. And due to WC staying in the winners bracket and playing the least amount of games they have to play Tenn. wesleyan to get to the title game. On the flip side due to Taylor University losing to WCU on the first day of the world series and coming thru the losers bracket and playing the most games, they get the bye to the title game tomorrow night.

William carey game tonight is huge. If they win they play Tennessee Weslyan in the championship. If they lose 3 teams are left with one loss each and carey cant receive the bye because they have played fewer games than the other 2 teams.

I know all the attention is on the regionals this weekend. But william carey is two wins away from winning the NAIA World Series
