River Oaks ditched MAIS after the 2019 season for LHSAA. They were even less competitive in the LHSAA then they were in the MAIS and now they're coming back, tail between legs.

Alabama does not, nor does Louisiana, Florida, South Carolina, North Carolina, Tennessee, Oklahoma, Texas, etc... Last time I did any research on it Arkansas and Georgia do, but that's it... maybe some midwestern state(s). St Al and Cathedral left MHSAA because they had out of state students and MHSAA ruled them ineligible - nothing to do with baseball. I don't know Madison SJ's reasoning for moving to MAIS. There are, I think, maybe six or so private schools in MHSAA - most of which do not actively recruit athletes. OLA, SSC, Resurrection, and Sacred Heart certainly do not. TCPS got caught with their hand in the cookie jar (football) so one would assume they might have learned a lesson. St Andrews - that juggernaut in all sports, right? If a school recruits athletes wouldn't they do so for all sports? Which team are you crying about beating your soccer squad this year?

Family in the county tells me that a lot of work is being done pro bono, so there's that.

According to the principal water, sewer, electricity, etc. was already on site prior to the bond. That should save quite a bit.

IP is probably the biggest employer in the county. Most folks work in Forrest or Harrison Co's.

Very broad generalization. Only a few states have multipliers. In any case, I don't see the relevance to soccer.

MAIS member Claiborne Academy in Haynesville, Louisiana has an ad on MAIS for head football coach. After going 10-2 (8-man) in 2021, Claiborne did not field a team in 2022.
