And now Evans has probably pulled his name out after they tabled to vote. Y’all think Hathorne is trying screw everything up, but the reality is that’s probably not the case. He and the superintendent tried to hire Mitch Evans, but the board is getting all the pressure from the local community who who want their own hometown guy so now it’s all in limbo again. You cannot conduct business that way. When you have a high quality coach like that who is willing to take the job, you have to capitalize on that opportunity. You never try to please the local fanbase when hiring a coach, because the reality is the average fan doesn’t know crap about the game anyway. Fans are just passionate, very seldom are they rationale. You have to hire the best candidate for the job.
