True. But at the beginning and end of the day a coach will answer to the administration. A coach should not feel like outside people (committees) have a say over their job. 100%, administrators have to do the job they are paid to do. Have the backbone to hire the coach, and if it doesn’t work out then move on.
Seems like everyone is interviewing this week. Which may not be great timing with the AD conference currently being held on the Coast. I’m hearing several schools are bringing in 10-12 coaches. The committees consist of 8-10 people. Too many administrators are afraid to make the call. This is not good for the coach that gets the job either IMO. Of the committee members most will not be the ones having the coaches back when the going gets tough. The administration needs to make the hire and support the coach.
Down here in Bayou La Batre Alabama for captain school and what a time to be sitting in a bar with an Ole Miss hoodie on. I’m an Ole Miss fan though so I know not to get too excited or have lifted expectations.
