  1. Definitely any win is a great win. As far as Coaching changes are concerned, I am very old school and way out of touch these days. I just don’t get the microwave mentality of fan bases in the present day. That includes State, Ole Miss and seemingly every major college around. Nobody has any patience (I admit I have been frustrated this year). And obviously it was mostly because we were getting blown out. Losing, while not desirable, is easier to swallow when it is 5-4 as opposed to 26-3. So all that to say that fans are concerned that if we start winning it will save Lemonis’ job. What an oxymoron that is . Now we want to keep losing so we can fire the coach. And yes , I know some Ole Miss fans have had the attitude about Coach Bianco….please keep losing so we can get rid of you……ooops, you won the National Championship…still not good enough…we need to go in a different direction…. As 83 pointed out, there are about 25 games left in the season. Still a long way to go. But the margin for error is very slim. And there are still problems…yes we did win last night but we walked 6 batters last night and gave up 8 runs. Still need to pitch better and field better. Today’s game is critical.

  2. Yes that’s definitely a tough loss. I hate to see this happen there. Hopefully they can get someone in who can do some good there. Carroll County is so underrated in my book. We know some folks up there and they are some of the finest people you will ever meet.

  3. You don’t worry about what I get or don’t get there sparky. Now that it’s over , I put that up there as a favor to somebody that does get it. I don’t even know if Brady even applied for sure or not. I will let my batting average on here speak for itself. Somebody asked was it even voted on. Yes Corey’s old buddy from South Jones threw his name out there for a vote and it was voted down by one vote. Now that the curtain has been pulled back West Jones community has taken notice and you can bet they won’t sneak any good old boys through again. Maroontide this isn’t a parable but it’s some advice from an old boss I had when I first graduated college. I bought a new truck paid for it , traded it for another one right after because it was wore out as it was the only ride I had .so I drove it. It was looking like the same with the second. I was complaining about it one day and he told me “ Son a car is not an investment, it’s an expense. You need to invest in having good credit. You are smart figure out the rest.” Two months later I leased my next new truck and have leased another new ride every three years since then. By the time you pay for a new auto, with what you are going to spend on tires brakes and repairs you will spend less on a lease and be driving a new one every few years. You got good credit you can drive one away in one the same day with no money down. Repairs , oil changes and other maintenance is all on them. That old long gone gray beard was right. Good credit is the best investment you can ever make. That’s my long winded speech for the week. Good luck with the hire Mustangs. Politics and high school football do not mix at all.

  4. I was just kidding after week 2 when I said maybe UK and Vandy are just THAT good. They appear to be. The problem is the SEC as a whole has very good teams from top to bottom. Like you said, it’s a bad year to be a bad team in the SEC. Regardless, any win is a good win for State and if they can get a series win after their start, that’s big. Some State fans I’ve talked to are concerned though that a decent run late may keep Lemonis his job.
