  1. Past hour
  2. Enterprise plays Stringer to open the 2026 prep football season next week; I like our chances in this game; I feel we'll have three things going for us: we'll have a much better team this year; we'll be at home and Stringer wont have Campbell who won the game for them last year.

  4. Let me see if I can guess who you think USM loses to. Auburn Tulane JMU Uconn
  5. It will surprise me if its anything other than scheduling or issues that have occurred at games involving both leagues.
  6. LSU, @ Fla, @ Tex, Aubie, Georgia and @ oklahoma will tell the tale on the season. they could lose any of these games at this point so they must go 6 and 2 thru these games and win all the others to go 8-4. Brutal
  7. There actually is a joint committee that’s been meeting, but a merger is just speculation.
  8. For Ole Miss, I think just having Trinidad and Kewan guarantees you 8 wins
  9. I believe thats why some of the schools last week were put on probation. Same thing happened last season with some schools. Just a slap on the wrist telling teams dont do anything again that could possibly get you in more trouble.
  10. Heard a rumor that some of the big dogs in the south may be in trouble for scrimmaging in pads last week. Anyone else heard this

  12. Welcome to the world of high school athletics now. Instead of folks getting mad about how things are now, everyone should just accept it.
  13. Not surprised. Money talks
  14. Surprised, not surprised that nothing happened to Tupelo after being caught recruiting the kid from Baldwyn.
  15. There isn’t going to be any merger or joint committee for anything. Some of yall are worse than a woman in a hair salon.
  16. Thanks for the update. But thats old news.
  17. MHSAA does have a 20 mile radius for private schools. MHSAA also has a rule where a player must be enrolled by July 1 and live in the school zone if not private school.
  18. State is capable of a 6-6/7-5 type season provided Kamario stays healthy and we can win some of these 50-50 games and then beat a team or two this year that we lost to last year. Ole Miss, I agree can be a 10-2 playoff team or if they stub their toe things could unravel and they could be 7-5. The coaching change does make a difference although Golding already being there helps immensely. There is a lot of pressure when expectations are so high. And as good as Chambliss was last year, I can see him maybe not matching that this year. Defenses will be more amped up to stop him and it sometimes tough to sustain that kind of success two years in a row. No question that Ole Miss has plenty of talent and the team could very well match last year’s success. But SEC football is quirky and slope can get slippery when things don’t go right. I am not quite as optimistic about USM record wise but I do like Blake Anderson. But they have 75 new players on the squad and I think they are going to lose a few games because of the lack of continuity. If they can hang on to him and create some stability then the future looks bright going forward.
  19. Heard over the last few years there have been around 5 or so starters for Hattiesburg that “moved in” from Oak Grove.

  21. Shoot your shot, let’s do official predictions. Will be fun to revisit in a few months. State - I’m prepared to be dead wrong, but I think this is a 7-5 team. I think they go 3-1 on both September and November and steal a game from someone in October. I don’t think they’ll win at Texas so that would mean I have them upsetting either Bama, LSU, or Oklahoma. Homer pick? Very possible! But I’m a big believer in Kamario Taylor and believe they’ll be improved enough on both sides of the LOS to get the job done in a few key games. Ole Miss - tough team for me to read. I don’t think it’s ridiculous to make a case for this team getting back to the Playoff or going 7-5. I am going to split the difference and say 8-4. Just believe this is a very tough schedule and I’m not totally bought in on the idea that they won’t skip a beat in the post-Kiffin era. This team gives me major 2018 State vibes for whatever reason. Strong roster and I think they’ll beat some good teams. But coaching changes are such a crap shoot, even with this situation where there’s reason for continued optimism. USM - 8-4. I like the way their schedule sets up and am a believer in Blake Anderson. SEC Champ - I have Oklahoma over UGA in Atlanta. National Championship - Ohio State over Oklahoma.
  22. Is it fair to say that they are recruiting against one another, so how, or can you, regulate that at all given two separate governing bodies? The way it is, the bigger school in the area with the most money, whether MHSAA or MAIS, is going to end up with all the athletes. It's just like college is going. They're going to NIL them up from the smaller schools. The toothpaste is out of the tube. There's no putting it back at either level. It's pay to play.
  23. There are a few current AISA schools that would be better served playing in MAIS.
  24. What did I miss that happened in Bama?
  25. Last week
