  1. Past hour
  2. You are right. And I get that the larger schools are gonna get most of the coverage. In the MSGridiron preseason rankings and coverage, they had one of our players as one of the top defensive linemen to watch in the state, and he isn’t even in school anymore. He hasn’t been in school since Christmas break of last year. And they still had him mentioned as one of our best players in their write up last week with our game against PCS. He quit school back in December and went and got a job.
  3. I noticed that. They missed that one. They do know a good bit about all classifications though. More so than the majority of the podcasts out there. I listened to them all last year and so far this year, and they do a good job 1a-7a. They covered that mize/wesson game a good bit on the show last year too. I guess they just forgot
  4. Today
  5. People really just shouldn’t cover the small schools if you don’t anything about them. Wesson has never even played Heidelberg in 2A. They definitely didn’t play them last year. Wesson lost to Mize last year.
  6. Week 2 Recap from the Varsity Voices Podcast ON THIS EPISODE Oak Grove survives a late Germantown fumble to escape with a 28-25 win Brandon rebounds behind Tyson Robinson's career-high 208-yard rushing night in a road win over Madison Central Starkville dominates the 100th meeting with West Point Poplarville, playing up a class, shuts down Stone Louisville and Kosciusko keep rolling The Simpson County Super Bowl is played as scheduled after a tense week, with well wishes sent to the Sumrall and Jeff Davis County communities Coach Carter's Heidelberg Oilers rout Quitman 66-14; PCS QB Smith Stringer shines in a win over Mize Boonville takes the Skunk Bowl
  7. Lucedale is actually what I'm concerned about. It's funny you mentioned that.
  8. West Jones and South Jones moved to Thursday due to lack of refs more to come according to article
  9. Thankfully all of Hattiesburg games but one are on turf. The one being at George Co.
  10. Thursday ain't looking too hot either. The lightning is what shuts things down.
  11. I only watched a little of the scrimmage with Terry but their QB was getting rid of the ball as soon as it touched his hands. Five or six yard passes to the sidelines. Their line was huge too . Maybe they will give us some turnovers
  12. Completely agree. I think we learn a lot about both of these times Friday. More about Kosciusko than Louisville. If Kosciusko manhandles Hernando then they are as good if not better than last season. Louisville struggles to score although their defense is something serious. Kosciusko's offense is potent (They return 11 starters on that side of the football). John Curtis is a great football team and I know Louisville is the real deal. So they dont have anything to prove to me. I fully expect them to beat Kosciusko twice but to make the inference that Kosciusco isn't even a valid threat after they should have beaten you twice last season is foolish and quite frankly the reason that Louisville watched the championship from home last year. You can use the excuse that you had injuries all that you want to but Kosciusko had just as many injuries and both of their top WR's (McBride and Roundtree) were hurt in the second game last year and the only injury Louisville had was the RB Jernigan (sp). Kosciusko physically whipped Louisville the second game around. I don't have a dog in this hunt but I am paying attention to this match up because I personally believe it is the most intriguing match up in the North Half of the State of MS this year that I will have the pleasure of watching twice. I will go on the record of saying I think Louisville wins because it is Louisville and they have straight dogs on DEFENSE and defense wins games. Louisville also has Tyrone Shorter. But Kosciusko is one of the best teams in the state regardless of class and Casey Orr has fielded a great team everywhere he has been.
  13. The only 6a caliber team in region 4 is Goula. And im not 100% sold on them yet. They dominated a bad Moss Point team and beat Biloxi. Not sure how good Biloxi is just yet. We will find out the next two weeks when they play Picayune and Hattiesburg.
  14. If Picayune had lost a couple of close games to both Gulfport and JA, the sentiment would be different. I would agree with you that Picayune would be just fine if that had happened. Maybe they will be, but what happens when they face a championship caliber 6A team? These are just questions that I ask myself. I don't answer them, but I kind of look at it as food for thought.
  15. Picayune will be just fine after looking at their upcoming schedule. Poplarville will be next real test and PRC will be up for that game.
  16. Kicking on your own really doesn't help much. You need a snapper and holder to help with the kickers timing
  17. We’ve had some issues but a freshman came in for OG and beat Germantown at the buzzer so the future is bright.
  18. We have plenty quality place kickers up here in the north.
  19. Most head coaches talk the talk of the importance of special teams but never back it up in the schedule for practices. They'll spend an hour on offense and an hour on defense and then give special teams 10 minutes. If they are a true kicker they are usual left to kick on their own.
  20. This type game will be major pre for teams like Kosy, who they'll probably see twice and also Poplarville who is my pick to make the final from the south.
  21. Baldwyn lost a key player recently and now has legal issues and won't be returning so they have some internal turmoil similar to what Grenada had last season.
  22. Who cares about your lil emojis if we lose! It wont be the end of the season if we lose! This just a big non district test to get us prepared for 4A! One thang bout Louisville we dont schedule cupcakes we want the best of the best! I can guarantee u the Wildcats gone come to play with anybody! Who tf your team is since u got so much to say
  23. It’s been this way 3-4 years now. Not just in high school but even in college and nfl kicks that were routine 10 years ago been getting missed a lot.
  24. Louisville is a very good class 4A team, probably the best in the State, but they will not be able to beat a very good 7A team like Starkville or a top team from Louisiana like John Curtis.
