It depends what Taylorsville give us and this what I mean. If Taylorsville feel the pressure of that 3 headed monsters early and often then I give Bay Springs 42 to 21 but, if Taylorsville has a plan to not give up on big runs then I give Bay Springs 28 or 24 to 12. Taylorsville has made plays down field often and frequently to make Bay Springs think twice of coming after their QB. Do you think some of these places have what it take to establish a football team? The majority of these teams are northeast teams who have higher enrollments than some schools who do play football. (Jumpertown, Wheeler, Hickory Flat, Blue Mountain, Tremont, Ingomar, Houlka, West Union, Coahoma Early College (Coahoma Aggie), Piney Woods, Ms School of Deaf.) This is why the Delta is probably pushed in the south in every other sports besides football and why the southern part of those northeastern schools ( Vardaman, Hamilton, West Lowndes,) get to stay in the north for sports other than football. pancho Posted October 24, 2022 Share Posted October 24, 2022 Houlka had football previously and dropped it. so did Hickory flat individually as well as part of a combined benton county team with ashland and dropped it. west union and Ingomar were originally part of the union county team which formed about 12 years ago and now is only East Union. Blue Mountain hasn't had football for 30 years at least. I doubt any of these schools would consider football again. Coahoma Early College has no sports now. MSD is 8 man football. Wheeler tried a few years back but didn't last long. Union County Schools turned football over to East Union. Taylorsville good RB is good too but Bay Spring can handle the run good. Taylorsville defense ain't near as good. Baldwyn hadn't won 1a I used to say teams like them Lumberton,East Marion and Baldwyn should win state ever year. I was amazed how they fell off wen they was in 1a. I also thought the same about Simmons when they went down to 1A cuz they were starting to see some great athletes come through and were competitive in 2A before they did but just couldn’t get over the hump. Not to mention they always had a massive offensive line. They’ve excelled since dropping down. Because half people never heard of theses teams. For so long Bay Springs was 2a when I was in there we was 3a. And for so long Bay Springs non division schedule was a bunch 4A's school and few 3A's. They already had low numbers, like just over 20 players on their roster. And they had to cancel their junior high season because they only had 9 players in their junior high.
