Tiburon
What do you guys think? Vancleave is undefeated. They have a running back, #1 John Peterson, who is a humble, hard-working kid, and doing a standout job. And apparently they have a stellar defense. Matt
Good season for Vancleave so far but I don’t see anyone in their region slowing down the team I watched play Dville. Offense is obviously good but defense is just as strong! Picayune 35-7. Tide is for real!
TK_on_the_Coast
Man @Tiburon I really don't know why you're being so obtuse about our defense. Poor attempt at humor to me. They've improved from 2021 and played to an outstanding second half shutout against Hancock. Vancleave's offensive line has also improved. One part I love about football is you never know exactly how a game will unfold until it does. Hoping for a good clean game and everyone walks off the field healthy.

maroontide06
If Vancleave can slow down Picayune’s offense, it’ll probably be a 28-7 type ballgame. If they can’t it’ll probably be like 42-7. We’ve consistently allowed 7 points to every team we’ve played this season, so that’s where the 7 comes from. It’ll be interesting to see how these two teams matchup with one another because these predictions could be way off as well.
maroontide06
I just hope both teams can play a clean hard-nosed football game because that’s what fans pay to see. You certainly don’t get your money’s worth when there’s a hot clock and the folks trying to make some money at the concession stands get shortchanged as well. Big Poppa
Vancleave has not played a team with a power running game. Picayune pulls away in the second half. Picayune's real test will come against a feisty East Centrol Hornets team.
TK_on_the_Coast
I will attach this here since there has already been a thread created for this game. Enjoy !!

While I wouldn't call it a power running game, Hancock totally went away from their passing game in second half vs Vancleave and ran the ball consistently and Vancleave consistently shut it down with a second half shutout. So we shall see.
Tiburon
Good stats on these teams and prior match ups. Edited September 27, 2022 by Tiburon misread
maroontide06
I don't know if we'll see the offensive shootout like we saw last year. Scoring 111 points in a football game is hard to do even when it's both teams contributing to the effort.
coastfootballfanman
Picayune 49 Vancleave 21 Vancleave scores 1 or 2 late vs. Picayune JV groups. I do not see Vancleave's defense keeping up with Picayune at all.

I simply stated Vancleave's defense shut down the run for a half of football. 100% different animal this Friday. Looking forward to the challenge. Hightide
I don't think Vancleave has the horses to slow down Picayune. Im thinking a 40 to 7 type game. JUST TOO MUCH TIDE!!!
Tiburon
heh i am glad you guys are all the ones making predictions and not me. A) is this the toughest team Picayune has faced this year? B) Is this the toughest team Vancleave has faced this year?

So to answer question A that would be a no. No comment on question B but that is why they play the games. We will know around 9:30 Friday night. If Vancleave played the teams that Picayune has this year they would be 1--4.
