Poplarville sells no gate tickets. gofan only for admission

Jefferson Davis County was selling tickets at the gate last night and also accepting Gofan digital tickets.

Vancleave gives you the option of GoFan digital tickets or cash entry.  The two years prior in 20 and 21 tickets were digital only.

Since we've got football starting back up, it's probably a good idea to get this thread bumped back up.  I've noticed that Brandon has GoFan, but can you buy a ticket at the gate or is it strictly GoFan?

IMO, digital tickets was the dumbest thing ever invented. Paying cash at a ticket booth is the easiest and most convenient way.

I agree and you save money that way because gofan charges ticket fees.  They gotta make their money too.

I don’t think digital tickets are dumb but to make it the only option is.

Go Fan is less work for teachers. However at Hazlehurst last year you had 1,000 fans all bunched up with 2 readers at the gate. It's a wonder if they were just running thru the gates.

Well @Tiburon Picayune is now cashless.  I know you can’t see this reply, but I thought of all places it wouldn’t happen at Picayune.  I know you wouldn’t be happy with this and neither am I.

Picayune is doing GoFan only for tickets.  They've accepted cash for tickets since the 1920s when Picayune started playing football.  The last time I checked, the US dollar is legal tender for all debts public and private.  (Oh and GoFan charges a fee, so it's not cheaper at all).

this makes it to where the admin doesn't have to deal with getting the money box before is stolen and then the task of counting all those green bills.

Well it's part of the job and it was never an issue before.  All GoFan does is inconvenience people because you have to have cash for concessions.  If you're paying cash for that, you should be able to pay cash for admission.

As someone who doesn’t carry cash often these days it doesn’t bother me. I’d argue having to stop at an ATM before the game is a bigger inconvenience than paying for a ticket on my phone.

I would rather do cash also, but will admit GoFan is a better fit for the ones working the gate. I went to a Hattiesburg baseball game on the road that used GoFan only and knew the person working the gate. His day was done about an hour after the game started because he did not have to count out the cash. In fact he left before the game was over. LOL. I see both sides of it.

 Bottom line is they don't want to work the gate, the ticket booth or the concession stand because their too good to be there on a Friday night. The younger teachers aren't interested in being at a game when they can be at home with the their 2 year olds or at an Applebee's  or Chick-fa-la .

If the teachers are non sports fans I can see that. If i hated sports, after being at school all day monday-friday and then being told to work on a friday evening until 10pm or later i would definitely not be a happy camper..
