Early impressions of Ole Miss:

RB stable is very impressive

Dart has been meh. Definitely not on Corral’s level at this stage but not saying he eventually couldn’t be very good.

Hard to evaluate much else. Troy’s offense is pretty bad but OM is doing what you should against a bad offense.

OM won, but didn't cover 28-10.

Overall, I liked the play of the defense, I like how they attacked the ball. Troy obviously is one of the weaker teams OM will play so I take it with a huge grain of salt.

OM played a sloppy second half- wasn't it 3 turnovers? I'm hoping first game jitters- we'll see how that goes moving forward.

The running game was impressive, again... huge grain of salt it was against Troy.

I thought Dart did OK. His deep throws were off, hopefully that's just inexperience.

State fell asleep at 35-3 but looks like they’ll still win comfortably. Overall no big complaints from me. They were totally dominant for 2.5 quarters and then hit a lull with a big lead.

My biggest concern was the OL and they have had a good night. Rogers was really impressive aside from one or two throws. Defense has been pretty vanilla and had a couple of busts but largely played well.

The interception was the receivers fault. He misread the coverage and stopped his route. They were playing mtm and he thought they were in a zone.

But other than the two turnovers, the offense played very well. Defense was very good. Memphis’s points came off the turnovers and then after the outcome was long settled.

So very glad that Arizona won last night impressively. Now I know we will not overlook them. Going to be a tough game on the road in the desert but so glad it is at night.
Tucson is at higher elevation so while the temps are warm that does help moderate it a bit compared to Phoenix which is like an oven this time of the year.

I can’t decide how I feel about the State-Arizona game. Just a lot of weird circumstances surrounding that one. I absolutely think State is the better team but it also feels like it could be a prime spot for a Mike Leach WTF loss. I’ll have more to say about it in the Week 2 thread, which I’ll start tomorrow or Tuesday.
