MSTSatchmo
Pitt/WV and Penn State/Purdue were pretty awesome games. It’s going to be crazy this year seeing so many familiar names at new schools.

The Pitt/WV game had two USC QB’s. One by way of UGA. OM has a USC QB, and USC has an Oklahoma QB.
s1nglewing
JRP had 102 rushing yards and 308 passing. Glad to see him playing QB again.
Dawg83
Old Dominion beat Virginia Tech. VT doesn’t get as much attention as others but they’re another formerly great program that has fallen a long way.
Dawg83
Early impressions of Ole Miss: RB stable is very impressive Dart has been meh. Definitely not on Corral’s level at this stage but not saying he eventually couldn’t be very good. Hard to evaluate much else. Troy’s offense is pretty bad but OM is doing what you should against a bad offense.
Dawg83
As I suspected might be the case, OM gets the win but not the cover.
rebmus
OM won, but didn't cover 28-10. Overall, I liked the play of the defense, I like how they attacked the ball. Troy obviously is one of the weaker teams OM will play so I take it with a huge grain of salt. OM played a sloppy second half- wasn't it 3 turnovers? I'm hoping first game jitters- we'll see how that goes moving forward. The running game was impressive, again... huge grain of salt it was against Troy. I thought Dart did OK. His deep throws were off, hopefully that's just inexperience.
MSTSatchmo
I didn’t see any of the OM game, but Evans and the OL had to be impressive based on the stats.
Dawg83
State impressive early but now in a lightning delay. RaRa Thomas has looked like a stud so far.

Weather delays can throw a team off. We will see if State can keep moving it like they were afterwards.
Bulldogs4
It will be at least 10P for this game starts back up.
rebmus
83, Florida did "upset" Utah... you and I (maybe a few others) picked that one. That was a great game to watch.
rebmus
Southern Miss has Liberty in OT.

rebmus
Liberty wins in 4OTs, 29-27. Nice effort by USM. Somebody give Hugh Freeze a hand.

USM still struggling in the passing game though. Even with a real QB and not a RB like last year. 4-8, 89 yards and 2 INTs
s1nglewing
USM is way better than they were. Still a ways to go
MSTSatchmo
A couple blown plays on defense and a couple turnovers on offense has put a damper on an otherwise good performance by State. After seeing the NC/App St game, the State/Memphis one is far from over too.
Dawg83
State fell asleep at 35-3 but looks like they’ll still win comfortably. Overall no big complaints from me. They were totally dominant for 2.5 quarters and then hit a lull with a big lead. My biggest concern was the OL and they have had a good night. Rogers was really impressive aside from one or two throws. Defense has been pretty vanilla and had a couple of busts but largely played well. Bulldogs4
The interception was the receivers fault. He misread the coverage and stopped his route. They were playing mtm and he thought they were in a zone. But other than the two turnovers, the offense played very well. Defense was very good. Memphis’s points came off the turnovers and then after the outcome was long settled.
Bulldogs4
I was wrong on Oregon and Georgia. Thought it would be much closer than that. Also, thought Utah would win but kudos to Florida on the win. ND covered against ohio state. Arkansas covered barely over Cincy. USM with a heart breaker. But they are much improved. MSTSatchmo
I thought UGA might have a drop off, and I don’t know why but I thought Nix would put up a much better performance. Smart was right, UGA just has much better players. Lol
Bulldogs4
So very glad that Arizona won last night impressively. Now I know we will not overlook them. Going to be a tough game on the road in the desert but so glad it is at night. Tucson is at higher elevation so while the temps are warm that does help moderate it a bit compared to Phoenix which is like an oven this time of the year. Dawg83
I can’t decide how I feel about the State-Arizona game. Just a lot of weird circumstances surrounding that one. I absolutely think State is the better team but it also feels like it could be a prime spot for a Mike Leach WTF loss. I’ll have more to say about it in the Week 2 thread, which I’ll start tomorrow or Tuesday.
