Enterprise Bulldogs

Head Coach Kelly Jimmerson 12th year

Returning Starters:

Offense eight

Defense Eight

Players to watch:

Landon Mcgowan WB/LB Hagan Hardy RB/DB Tanner Sanders FB//LB Brayden Johnson RB/LB Tim Miller TE/DE Caden Mathis TE/DE Austin Reynolds C/DT Alex Dickerson OG/DT Trent Williams OT/DT Maddox Moore PK/Punter

EHS Head Coach Kelly Jimmerson: ''I mean every year ends and you kind of have to shut it out of your mind and move on but its still in the back of your mind. Obviously last year we didn't reach the goals we had set. This year hopefully we can learn from some of the mistakes we made last year and do a little better than we did last year. Every group is special they're seniors. You spend five to six years of your life with them. You know this is their last opportunity with you so you want to make it as good as it could possibly be. But at the end of the day they have to want that also. Like I said we just want this group hopefully to one day look back and appreciate the things we did try to do with them.''

Enterprise Senior WB/LB Landon McGowan: [Being a Senior] It gives me responsibility for everybody to take control and lead this team to a better place. I'm looking forward to making it to at least the second round [or] third; its how far we can go and thats really all I want us to have.''

The Enterprise Bulldogs are looking back to getting on the winning side of things after having their first losing season in several years. Enterprise finished 5-6 in 2023 their first losing season since 2018. The Bulldogs will field a more experienced squad as eight starters return on both offense and defense from last years team. The 2024 EHS Bulldogs team will be a mix of experienced veterans and young inexperienced players. While the offensive and defensive lines and front seven return most the offensive and defensive backfields will be young and lack experience. The offensive line returns all but one starter but Enterprise's starting QB and several major contributors in the backfield graduated while the entire secondary from last year graduated. Senior Landon McGowan [576 yards six TDs] and Senior Tanner Sanders [134 yards 3 TDs]  are the only returning starters ; Sophomore Ryder Freeman [ 6-1 160] will be Enterprise's starting QB; the O-Line will be anchored by junior Austin Reynolds [6-1 295].  On defense key players returning include senior defensive ends Tim Miller [49 tackles 5 QB sacks] and Caden Mathis [1QB sack] junior defensive lineman Alex Dickerson [33 tackles 1 QB sack] junior LB Brayden Johnson [70 tackles three QB sacks] McGowan [38 tackles] ; Senior Maddox Moore will handle lace kicking and punting. Enterprise kicks off the 2024 season at Lake on Aug. 30.

I believe at worst we will finish 6-3 with the losses coming to Union Noxubee and Kemper Co; we are a lock for 3rd place in district as SE Lauderdale and McLaurin were terrible last year and not likely to be better this year; I think we beat Lake Mize Clarkdale and Newton but Noxubee and Kemper will be incredibly hard to beat; Noxubee is probably the best 3A team in the state and Kemper Co is loaded with D-1 athletes; we could beat Union as they will not be as good as last year and lost a lot.

Yea, what round do you think they'll go to in the playoffs?  Is the team as loaded as you said last years team was?

Since Region 5 plays 7 this season they can get to round 2. I wouldn't be surprised the whole region 5 gets round 2. Beating Wesson will be tough. Jefferson County can be hard to beat on the road.

Let me back up it's 5 vs 8 and 6 vs 7 so no I don't think they get to round 2.

Wesson lost their best player. Still going to be good, but that player was a huge chunk of their offense.

@Lake-Win

@Union-Win(Unless Bug has an out of this world game and puts up crazy numbers with his legs cuz they’ll be breaking in new set of WR’s)

Mize-Loss

@Clarkdale-Win

Newton-Win

SLHS-Win

@McLaurin-Win

Noxubee County-Loss

@Kemper County-Loss

I’m only picking Union to win that game because it’s at Union. I do believe EC is more than capable of winning that game this early in the season though.

They will win more than that. They will be pretty decent this season.

Union is generally expected to be better than Mize so it doesnt make much sense to pick Enterprise to beat Union and lose to Mize though I expect Enterprise to beat both teams.

Mize is better than they were last year from what I’m hearing and it’s a Mize team that held Enterprise to 0 first downs til late 4th quarter in a 21-0 shutout that could’ve been worse. As far as Union goes, they lost almost all their productive skill players on offense and defense got hit hard by graduation as well. There’s no question Mize is a solid team this year. Union is a question that’s getting the benefit of the doubt in polls because of Bug being a talented QB in his senior year. That’s why at the moment a loss can be predicted to Mize and a tossup win against Union. That win against Union could easily be changed to a loss once we see what Union’s working with in week one. It’s really not that difficult to understand.

Enterprise was a different team later in the year the Enterprise team that played  Wesson and JDC would have beaten Mize our O-line will be better this year they were young when we played Mize from what I see of Mize they only have one good player Gray they are big but have no speed or passing game to speak of if we stop Gray we should be alright because Mize dont have anyone else Enterprise is better than last year as well Mize might beat Enterprise but it sure aint no sure thing.

We expect you to think that enterprise will beat the Dallas Cowboys. We don’t consider your picks to be objectively thought out and well reasoned. I’m not picking yall to beat Union. I’m picking Union to win because they are at home. If Mize has a bad night, and enterprise has a good night, then Enterprise could upset Mize. But it will take Mize having an off night for it to happen.

Dont know if we are better right now. We lost a lot of defensive production. A lot of new faces on defense, but a lot of potential there too. Our 10th grade group is really good. I feel good about where the defense will be near the end of the season. We match up better against offenses like Enterprise than we do those who spread the field and are more balanced. Offensively I feel pretty good. We should be very similar to what we were last season offensively, but we won’t throw the ball anywhere near as much.
