Oak Grove has had a really solid offense. I think by default Mitchell will be the best playcaller of any Germantown coach just by stepping onto the field.

It’ll be his first year as a head coach and a play caller, he didn’t call the plays at Oak Grove.

I don't know the guy, but if that is the case that is going to be a tough task.  They also didn't stick with their plan of hiring a coach with at least 5 years of HC experience.  He may do a great job, but what happened to all the big name coaches who were attached to the job.

Has Mitchell ever been a Head Coach before?? Don't know much about him besides he has been at OG a while. Would be some first HC job if this is his first.

Mitchell will be a great head coach was offensive coordinator at Pearl Pearl  Community College when they won National Championship in 2004 and won several state championships with Tim Hatten. Was Offensive Coordinator for Picayune when they won State Championships in 2011 and 2013. Looks like he's done ok at Oak Grove ,too. He has some skins on the wall and I think Germantown will be pleased.

It’s a bad idea to publicly state that you’re going to hire a guy with HC experience. If that guy doesn’t materialize, or a top assistant blows you away, it looks publicly like you settled for less.

Being offensive coordinator at PRCC in 2004 would have been really impressive considering he graduated from high school around 2002.
Are you sure he was OC at picayune in 2011 and 2013?

Yes he started as an assistant at PRCC early on before he has gotten all his degrees, I think he has his Masters now. I am 100% sure he was Offensive Coordinator at Picayune 2011 and 2013 State Titles. As it is anywhere you need some players and if he gets a few players then Germantown will be fine.
