I am highly skeptical that Williams ends up at OM. I have been wrong before but I am not buying it until it’s a done deal. I just have a hard time believing that it’s not going to be Georgia, USC or some other blue blood. You would think Bama and Ohio State won’t pursue him, but literally everyone else would take him in a heartbeat and I have a hard time believing he doesn’t end up with one of the big boys.

This just feels a bit too much like a Cam Akers/Nakobe Dean type thing where Ole Miss folks are the only people who think they are getting their guy and then they don’t.

But like I said, I have been wrong before.

Apparently looking at the options for him, OM would be his best option, I believe.  I don’t see him staying at OU, Oregon has more competition at QB than OM, and Penn State doesn’t seem like a good offensive fit.

I will say though, that I haven’t seen Williams give a list of teams he is considering or anyone even mention he has been on any official visits.  Those are just the schools I saw associated with him in random tweets.

If this turns out to be same as The Cam Akers deal, they'll be much ca$h passing hands only to be spurned.

I don’t want him if it keeps us from getting Arch.

Are there any commonalities between the Manning's and the Weis coaching tree? I have no idea if the Manning's would feel comfortable under Kiffin in the first place. I would think that Kiffin would have to swear on Archie's life to promise and continue coaching in Oxford for the duration of young Arch's college career. This is just what I glean from my conversations.

That is an interesting thought. If that happens, then Kiffin would remain at Ole Miss until at least 2027 unless Arch leaves before then.

Overall that would be good for Ole Miss and Mississippi in general. But given Kiffin’s butterfly approach to coaching it is hard to envision him staying lit at Ole Miss for that many years. You never know though.

Of course if Altmeyer develops into a good QB then Arch may struggle to get on the field his first couple of years (if in fact he does go to Ole Miss).

It would be good for both of us if Leach and Kiffin stay in place for a while. Both schools would be competitive in the SEC and I think each would more than hold its own against the rest of the league.

The All American Bowl high school all star game is about to start.  12 players are making their decisions today.  OM is expected to get a commit from a DB out of New Jersey.

No Mississippi players in this game.  The Under Amour game had  4 on the roster, 3 that played.

I’m not aware of any connections between the Mannings and Weis other than their knowledge of his dad, former super bowl champion OC Charlie Weis.

I don’t dread the threat of Kiffin leaving. Personally I don’t even like him, but IF Arch comes to Ole Miss and Kiffin leaves that would be very poor judgement on Kiffin’s part. The amount of attention the Ole Miss program would receive from having the 3rd generation of Manning QB’s would be insane. Not to mention there should be some winning involved. Who wouldn’t want the distinction of saying they coached a Manning and possibly a Heisman winner? Talk about hypotheticals, am I putting the cart before the horse or what?! 😂

I want to think Kiffin learned some valuable lessons from his younger days as a head coach. Hopefully he’s settled down a little bit.

I’m anxious to see what Altmyer does next season. It’s going to be a challenge, but he will have had plenty of time to prepare for it. 🤞🏻

Kiffin sure is working for a QB from the portal, so I'm not sure if he's sold on Altmyer.

You sure are.  Sounds just like the Shea Patterson hype we had on MST.  He was a guaranteed 3 years and gone, Heisman winner and number one overall draft pick.

Shea let all of the hype go to his head. He thought he was owed everything. I think Manning is a bit more grounded and accustomed to hype.

4-star safety Davison Igbinosun — a native of Union, New Jersey — appeared virtually and announced he was choosing Ole Miss over Maryland, Kentucky and Tennessee.

Per the 247Sports composite rankings, Igbinosun is the No. 29 cornerback in the 2022 class (though he’ll likely play safety at Ole Miss) and the No. 3 overall prospect from the state of New Jersey.

State added a DB from West Virginia and a WR from Northwestern today. Still expect them to add a couple more guys.

Sounding like Caleb Williams is most likely USC bound, which probably shouldn’t come as a surprise to anyone. The flip side of that is Jaxson Dart from SC is now in the portal, and he will also be a sought after QB.

Now Parrish has entered the portal. Could be following the RB coach to Miami.

I suspect that's where Parrish will land.

Ole Miss better hope this Evans kid is as good as billed and also shows up with no issues to keep him from playing.

I’d like to point out that so far Kiffin has been unable to secure a transfer commit from one of the many sought after QB’s that have been available. Meanwhile Frost at Nebraska has secured two transfer QB’s. One would think this wouldn’t be a difficult task given both Kiffin and Ole Miss’ reputations for producing NFL caliber QB’s. So what gives?

Maybe he's not looking to land a one-year QB and/or is satisfied with the three QB's currently on roster.

I’m curious about the portal players that haven’t signed yet and enrolled in a new school.  Are they still at their old school or not in school at all?   They can’t still be on scholarship with their original school.  You’d think they would still need to be keeping up classes though.

He’d be fine with a one year QB of it was the right QB.   I bet they were pressuring Dart for a commit this weekend.  I’m actually surprised he didn’t.   I haven’t heard what other schools he is considering.

JT Daniels is back in the portal.
