Huuuuuge recruiting weekend for Ole Miss this weekend with Juice Fest going on. I think it pulls at least 2 commits with Mills-Knight being one of them which will soften the Dear loss a lil bit cuz MK’s stock will go up as his senior year goes on. The biggest one here this weekend which I find doubtful but fingers crossed would be is if this weekend could sway Jared Smith away from Auburn. Pocket books will be open but sorority girls aren’t here yet so we’ll see how it goes.

Maybe just me, I have a much harder time caring about recruiting than I used to. Signing Day is far less “final” that it was pre-portal. It used to be you knew you were getting a signee for at least three years, now you hope he’s there for more than one.

Yawn to recruiting as you are correct. The chances of a player remaining with one school for four or five years is about the same as Trump & Harris eating lunch together.

Honestly I like the lunch’s odds better. Lol

Good news for Ole Miss fans. Deion Smith is ruled fully eligible and arriving on campus within the next 24 hours. With the way Tre and Juice looked today, this WR group is going to be crazy fun to watch together.

If Wells is healthy and Smith can play to his potential that’s arguably the best group of receivers in the country this year.

That's correct. I didn't account for the offseason moves regarding the portal. My apologies.

Uhh the only receiver State has that you mentioned is Creed.

This season MSU should rely heavily on Creed Whittemore, Jordan Mosley and Jaden Walley and added impact wideouts Kelly Akharaiyi and Kevin Coleman from the transfer portal along with A trio of freshmen in Mario Craver, JJ Harrell and Braylon Burnside.

I don’t think Walley is going to be a huge piece anymore. Which is a shame because I thought that guy was awesome as a freshman. Just kinda went downhill from there.

I'm apt to keep an open mind with what Lebby has done in the past at power-5 schools like UCF, Baylor, Ole Miss and Oklahoma in terms of accomplishing transformative change for developing wide receivers and even what Lebby accomplished in 2017 at Southeastern.

Hopefully with the amount of weapons at WR that can be used, Wells won’t have to put too much wear and tear on his body. Yesterday he was looking like a Damore'ea Stringfellow 2.0. Ole Miss is also in good position to land Micah Davis from Utah St. who is eligible to play right away. He’ll be another weapon at the slot position and in the return game.

Surprisingly Georgia has dismissed Rara Thomas. I just figured Kirby was gonna make him sit out a practice.

K.S. has UGA to the point of being like Alabama where even a good player can be dismissed if he's not with the program and the team can successfully press on.  Thomas accounted for a single touchdown for the Bulldogs last season at any rate.

Well he’s surely not dismissing players because this is the first one that’s been dismissed even though there’s been 24 arrests since the deaths of Willock and LeCroy. I’d compare them more to the Urban Meyer Florida teams at this point.

Those 24 arrests were largely if not exclusively reckless driving related whereas the arrest of Thomas involved the physical abuse of a child and an element of physical violence.

I think the whole world knew RaRa going from State to Georgia wasn’t going to end well. Most just thought it was because of depth chart issues. Didn’t realize he was just a bad dude.

First off not meaning this as a shot to State but you don’t go from State to Georgia because of depth chart issues. State made the right decision. A month into his stay at Georgia he got arrested for abuse but hey those things somehow got dismissed before he stepped foot on the field. Crazy how those things happen.

I think you misunderstood what I meant. Georgia is a clear upgrade, I was saying that most State people thought he wouldn’t last at UGA because he’d get buried on the depth chart in Athens. Instead he didn’t last because he’s got some major personal issues, it appears.

Def misunderstood it because I thought you were saying he left State because of the depth chart and he’d see more playing time at Georgia. My bad lol

Ole Miss is certainly loaded. My take is, you usually have three games a year that you can win on emotion. And three games that you will stink up the joint. The key for Ole Miss is when those three stinker games happen, they can muddle through and find a way to win. The other six games will be played to their general potential and they should win based on talent.

We will see what happens.

Regarding Walley, I think he suffered a difficult leg injury back in 2022 and he has never been the same. Unfortunate because he was tremendous before then.

RaRa was good at State but I just never saw him as being good enough to be a go to guy at UGA. Sadly he didn’t really give himself a chance because he couldn’t keep his act together.
