Thursday night is going to be one heck of a good game. I don’t understand the NFL scheduling the Saints against the Egg Bowl. Each game eats into the other’s ratings. Dumb and dumb on the NFL’s part. Of course I don’t watch the NFL anymore with exception of watching Dak occasionally. Since Drew retired I could care less about the Saints . Since Drew retired I have not even watched a moment of a Saints game , I could not tell you what their record is this year. Actually I did not watch them any last year except for his final game when they lost in the playoffs. Is that better? No need for two TV’s Thursday night. I still blame the greedy NFL. For decades, you had the pitiful Lions hosting the early game and then the Cowboys hosting the afternoon game with a college game in the evening (Texas-A&M game for many years along with the Egg Bowl in there sporadically as well). It was a great setup that worked perfectly until they decided to fix something that was not broken. The NFL went in years ago and decided they wanted Thursday’s to be their day, and it kinda killed a lot of these big college matchups that seemed to happen frequently on Thursday’s. There isn’t isn’t a ton of benefit from an exposure standpoint in playing the EB on Thursday anymore. It made sense 20 years ago from a TV perspective, but it makes less sense now. It will get social media buzz from the CFB diehards and some writers but it won’t be the most watched game of the season for either team in all likelihood.
