rebmus
Thanks again to Dawg83 for getting this rolling this year. Since it's Thursday, I'll go ahead and start this week's thread. New Mexico State at Bama. MSU at Auburn. Samford at Florida. UGA at Tennessee. South Carolina at Missouri. A&M at Ole Miss. Kentucky at Vandy. Arkansas at LSU. Other games of interest: North Carolina at #21 Pitt just kicked off. #6 Michigan at Penn State #8 Oklahoma at #13 Baylor #19 Purdue at #4 Ohio State #16 NC State at #12 Wake Forest

rebmus
I'll take: Bama- who wouldn't? MSU- I like the matchup for MSU. Good against the run and short passes. Should be a very close game. I probably should pick Auburn at home, but like the upset potential. Florida- they're in trouble but it's Samford. UGA- it's obviously the smart pick. I do think this game will be closer than most think. I sure wouldn't bet on UT to pull the upset, but this has been a crazy season and UT would win if UGA came out flat while UT played lights out. USC- who knows. Both teams are pretty bad but USC has some confidence after last week. A&M- should be a great game. IF Corral/Sanders/Mingo/Drummond are 80% healthy to play... I'll change that pick to Ole Miss. Kentucky- Poor Vandy. Arkansas- I think. If last week's LSU team shows up, LSU wins. Pitt is rolling in the first quarter. I thought this may be a decent game. This may be an example of how far off I am with guesses this week? Ha Like Pitt/UNC, I haven't watch much at all from the other teams I listed so not picking those. MSTSatchmo
I guess I’ll take Bama. OM 28 A&M 24 - If healthy I think they’re pretty even teams, so I’ll go with OM at home. I have no doubt how healthy OM is though. Auburn 31 State 21 - Auburn bounces back after a poor showing last week. I think LSU upsets Arkansas in a close one. UGA UF S Carolina UK Should be some entertaining games across the country. I think I’ll take Baylor over Oklahoma.

The other games sure could mix up the rankings. I lean Baylor over Oklahoma also- just because Oklahoma has played with fire and just DUE a loss. Baylor is the likely one left to beat Oklahoma. Wake Forest/NC State/Pitt are in the driver's seat to win the ACC. Pitt is taking care of business tonight to win their division. Wake could wrap up their division with a win, NC State takes the lead with a win in that one. Is Purdue really a top 25 worthy team? Is Ohio State really a playoff team? While I've watched little of these two teams- the Michigan/Penn State game has a lot of potential IMO. I lean Michigan isn't a top 6 team and lean Penn State should be top 25... maybe finishes top 15 and Penn State hosts. This should be a good game to watch. Dawg83
Ole Miss over A&M in a close one. Still don’t totally trust Zach Calzada. And I think Ole Miss gets it done in a big home game. I actually think I like State’s chances of stealing a road win here. I’ll be at the game tomorrow so maybe that’s just wishful thinking from me that my road trip won’t be all for naught. But I like how State has been playing in the last month or so and think if they can contain Nix and keep him from scrambling and making too many ridiculous plays, this is a very winnable game. My only hesitation would be if the OL takes a step back, and also the fact that State has struggled MIGHTILY in their last few trips to the plains. Georgia wins but Tennessee is competitive for three quarters. Really think Heupel has done an underrated job with that team this year. Arkansas beats LSU, I think LSU was up to play Bama and won’t be as up as this week after a close loss. Upset pick for me this week is Virginia over Notre Dame. I also think Baylor beats OU. Bulldogs4
I like OM to beat A&M. I predicted back in August that A&M would beat Bama but blow the W by losing two or three other games. This will be one of those. I am terrible when it comes to State. If I pick us to win we usually lose. But I am like 83 in that this is a winnable game. Comes down to three things: 1 or less turnovers, avoid crucial penalties (way easier said than done especially over there), play flawless on special teams. We will see what happens. UGA over UT bigley. UT has played well but UGA is on a completely different level. It may stay close for a quarter but I see it finishing out 38-10 or so. Arkansas flattens LSU. LSU shot their last wad last week against Bama and I do think think they will roll over the rest of the season. USCe and UK win over the two worst teams in the league. Penn State, Purdue (in another upset….hey why not?), NC State and Baylor all win. ND beats UVA. I have no idea who won last night but I would have picked Pitt just because I don’t like UNC. UNC came back and made a game of it, tied it up in the 4th to take it to OT. Pitt won in OT. I had to look this morning because I'm old and went to bed at 9:30 last night. MSTSatchmo
Auburn is on pace for 800 yards. Didn’t expect that. State has to be the worst 3rd down team in the country on defense. Bulldogs4
Going for two the first time was dumb but otherwise the team has played great since midway of the second quarter. Let’s see if we can finish now.

rebmus
Baylor beat Oklahoma. MSU beat Auburn. Bama rolled. Michigan struggled at Penn State, but won. Florida scored 70 while giving up 52 to SAMFORD. Florida won- but still. Geesh.
Bulldogs4
Florida is pathetic. State gave up 41 to Samford in 2016 which was pathetic too. But geez 52 points. Great comeback by State. Did that happen in SB a few years back by the NE Patriots…. 28-3 deficit. Outscored them 40-6 in two and one half quarters.
Dawg83
Does anybody have a stranger resume’ than State? What a great win. Will Rogers is a legit upper tier QB in college football right now. Maybe it’s due to the system but he has been playing at an unbelievably high level. This all but guarantees at least 7 wins for State, I think most would’ve taken that before the year. Can you win on Thanksgiving and get to 8? We shall see. If you do, it would be hard to consider this anything other than a very good year. rebmus
USM is leading #23 UTSA 17-10 in the third. That's be a huge win for momentum for Hall/USM. They really need something to start going right there.

Don't forget losing to LSU in Starkville. Losing to this Arkansas team on the road isn't as bad as losing to LSU while hosting IMO. A team that won road games at Auburn and at A&M sure should have won all three. Seems like it's part of the Leach experience. Pick up some nice wins while having questionable losses. rebmus
USTA came back to beat USM 27-17. I didn't watch, but odd stat line. USM passed 7 times the whole game, 3 of those passes were by Frank Gore Jr (he completed 2 of 3).
