coastfootballfanman
Where does Moss Point go from here? Will be tough to find someone this late and from what I hear, there is not anyone on staff currently that has the chops to take over. maroontide06
It definitely puts Moss Point in a bad spot, but they’ll have someone you would think even if it’s an interim hire. They are definitely a shell of what they were 20-25 years ago.

slicklizard
Wayne County has a multiple champion of life coach and numerous character building titles at the district level.. Make the call I’m sure you will be listened to. It being late in the year brings with it a built in excuse which this candidate will love.

Archer
If only ONE person in the town of Moss Point cared as much about this vacancy as the individuals posting in this thread. The sun has set.

The sun has set. Will football even be a thing there now? I realize they aren't the Moss Point of old and maybe they've just evaporated like an open can of paint thinner, but if that's the case it certainly does paint a bleak picture over there. When I saw them play Poplarville last season, was that the last hoorah so to speak? You make it sound like last season was the farewell campaign. Maybe that truly was the funeral for them. Sad times there.

That aside he will be remembered as the guy who downshifted and floored it straight to the ditch. He would probably be alright coaching 25-30 players. Having access to a hundred players and arranging them to compete against what we have played against the last twenty years ? He’s in over his head. I'm not trying to speak on Archer's behalf and that's not to say there isn't anyone in Moss Point who cares, but Moss Point is facing some harsh reality. You hate to see it because Moss Point was once a thriving community. Maybe things can change there, but the prognosis just isn't very good. When they eventually drop to 3A, they'll struggle there too.

The county is already managing some of the city services and the tax revenues are ever-shrinking.
coastfootballfanman
Head Baseball Coach Julius Bridges is given interim tag for the season. I do not see this being the full time solution. Obviously tough situation to find someone as late as they had to. I imagine it will open up in November/December. Tough road ahead for the tigers. Population still tends to be trending down. Apparently they may be 3A next count. Edited June 12, 2024 by coastfootballfanman
