I can say that the superintendent wants Jimbo, but principal wants whoever the other candidate is which I suspect is Fortenberry the DC at Sumrall. Normally, the superintendent gets his way but right now things are hectic with the super and the board. A lot of stuff going on behind the scenes. A hire is expected to be made next week during spring break and the new coach should be notified before school starts back the next week. We will see who wins out. Everyone deserves a second chance. But 4 or 5 second chances should be enough. If Jim Nowell is doing well at Philadelphia he may have a shot at that job. I’m not so sure that Fortenberry is a candidate anymore. There is no way he could take a $10,000 pay cut. I’ve heard rumors about the DC at Florence and the OC at Velma being the two candidates. Once those kids get to 9th grade they can split them up between mize and Raleigh. North Tville can go to Raleigh and south Tville can go to mize. But no consolidation. They can't put all Tville students at Mize and the same goes for Raleigh. Overcrowding will be an issue. I don't think it will happen but Hillman has his plan and 3 of the board members just might pass it. No one in Raleigh has heard about what has went on at Superintendent office. Basically what Leake County had to do from 4 down 2 or 50/50 split county wide not population wide. Somewhere between Center Ridge and Taylorsville you divide the line on Hwy 37 and draw the line straight east. Your probably getting 2 3A or 1 3A/1 4A schools.
