ccbulldog
Has anyone got this book yet by Nash Nunnery? It's about 47 of the most famous high school football stadiums in Mississippi. It's illustrated by Marshall Ramsey. I can't wait to get it myself.
maroontide06
No I haven't got it. I didn't even know it existed before you posted about it. If definitely sounds like an interesting book. I'm sure it will have The Ray and Watkins Field in it. I'd be curious about the other 45 though.
Former Coach
It's ok. Some very good fields left out and some head scratchers included. Fields are broken down by geographical regions, which some are incorrect. I think he has Kosciusko in the Northeast. Not as good as some of the other books on MS football. Who was left out and who are the headscratchers?
MSSportsGuy
I was given this as a Christmas gift and it's a great book. There will always be some fields who get left out but it did a good job covering the ones included.

There are many I've never been to and most in the Pine Belt/Gulf Coast area I'm not familiar with at all.
maroontide06
New fieldhouse going up at Picayune’s Cathedral. Definitely been a long time coming, but it was needed.

Pull-A-Roy
Even though the newer stadiums are nice and facilities are better I do miss the character of some of the older stadiums.

I have to admit our built in 1950 cast-in-place concrete stadium spoils me a bit. Nobody's got the leg room like we've got at Picayune. It makes every other metal bleacher style stadium feel like a sardine can. Newer ain't always better.
Pull-A-Roy
I have seen quite a few of the stadiums across mississippi . My top five as far as age tradition ect.... would be Meridian Picayune Laurel Philadelphia Gulfport Newer stadiums Columbia Brandon Oak Grove Tupelo (somewhat old though) Petal
