USM was in danger of dropping to FCS if (probably when) CUSA folds if they didn't find another conference quick. Bulldogs4 Posted October 23, 2021 Share Posted October 23, 2021 This is the best that USM could hope for given the current circumstances. Much better with regional rivals: Troy, USA, ULL, ULM. Plus throw in Ga Southern, GA St, App State, Coastal Carolina, Ark. State. Just a much better fit. Plus there is some good baseball as well. Should give their athletics a boost and certainly help football attendance going forward. I am glad for USM.
