rebmus
Technically an NFL topic, but we all know his name will be spread around by college fans this offseason.
MSTSatchmo
I think Meyer will not be far behind.
Bulldogs4
They can probably form a PFC LLC J. David Gruden, U. Frank Meyer LLC Past Football Coaches, LLC Qualifications needed to enter are simple: Just do or say or write one thing that is offensive to people or is wrong and BOOM you are in!!! I’m always amazed that people have the time to sit around and dig up old emails or Facebook posts or tweets from years ago.

rebmus
Just now, MSTSatchmo said: Yep. I was half kidding, half serious. That whole ordeal played out just odd. I think it was clear Freeze had lost his team that final year... I'm pretty sure a lot of players knew about some of the things he was doing. While MSU fans cheered on Steve for helping get rid of Freeze, it also saved Ole Miss about $18.5 million (if memory serves) in a buyout. I thought it was crazy level obsessive of Steve to do what he did, but I'm pretty happy he did it. He ended up helping Ole Miss.
MSTSatchmo
It wasn’t 10 year old digging, but it was obsessive.
pancho
This is simply more softening and shaping to a different society in this country. I'm not sure if or when it will stop going in this direction.
Insideradvantage
I just hope he doesn't continue to come crawling back with a bunch of apologies. Just take your millions and enjoy life. Apologizing ad nauseum is a tremendously bad look (see ol Drew Breeze) and something he said 10 years ago is ancient history anyway. The barrage of apologies look fake and not sincere. Say you’re sorry once, then move on. Some will believe you and some won’t. I don’t agree with digging up stuff from a decade ago, but it appears he was a much bigger idiot than it originally appeared. There are consequences for saying and doing things. The consequences are much more severe and public than they used to be. There will always be idiots and people saying things they shouldn’t. This won’t change that. There will always be double standards too. What will the Spurs do with Poppovich after his recent comments?
MSTSatchmo
Just to keep it relevant though, I don’t think we will see Gruden at the college level anytime soon after the latest developments. Lol
hasbeen67
I don't know what comments were exactly. People will have their opinions. But to me it's really bad judgement for a guy in that position to put out stuff that even might be controversial. Same thing with Meyer. Maybe it was innocent, but you can't put yourself in that position. Without making moral judgement on some of these guys, at least have some discretion. Freeze is a little different for me though because he was talking one way and living another.
