MSTSatchmo
I would still put OM and Arkansas in a group above everyone else after Bama/UGA. Vandy is holding tightly to a spot by themselves at the very bottom. Lol UF is a real head scratcher from yesterday, although you have to be prepared for UK at home the last few years. They are scrappy at home. But still, UF went to the horn with Bama.

Bulldogs4
Mine was kind of tongue-in-cheek. But honestly (3-11) on most Saturday’s one team could beat the other. There seems to be huge gap between 2 and 3 and 11 and 12. I should have included USCe as #12. I do agree that OM, Arky, Auburn, KY, FL are generally higher than the others but there is not a huge separation amongst the middle nine teams. MSTSatchmo
Well, at least everyone now knows the key to attacking Bama. According to Danielson just throw slants all day. You may run out of WRs, but you’ll move the ball.
Dawg83
Is State the toughest remaining challenge on Bama’s schedule? Serious question. Not saying they will be a huge challenge for Bama, but look at Bama’s remaining regular season games. They are cruising to Atlanta and may not play a game within three TD’s before then. I mean I guess the Iron Bowl on the road is what most people would consider the toughest game left, but I just can’t see this version of Auburn being all that competitive with Bama. State runs a weird enough offense and falls in a spot on the schedule where I can be convinced Bama has a letdown and only wins by 14 or 17. But that also has the potential to be 59-0. The division races are a formality. Everyone else is just playing for bowl positioning the next 7-8 games.
rebmus
Good question 83, Right now I'd say Arkansas is the toughest remaining challenge. I think Arkansas is better than what they showed vs Georgia (along with Georgia is just that much better than the rest... like Alabama is). Bama hosts this one so maybe I shouldn't put it #1... but I feel decent that's the best team left on the regular season schedule for Bama. I lean towards Auburn is better than the Georgia State game and probably better than MSU. I'd put that game at #2, and plus it's a rivalry game that Auburn hosts. MSU is the third toughest game Bama has left IMO. Either way, I don't see Bama losing a regular season game unless they happen to have a very off game with a bunch of turnovers while the other team plays near perfect. MSTSatchmo
UF was able to run the ball on Bama. Arkansas and Auburn are both much better than State running the ball. Around 120 teams are actually better than State at running the ball. That said, as shown in the OM game, if Bama decides to stop the run, they’re going to stop the run. The UF game was probably an exception.

The UF game was probably an exception. True, and I'll add this: Bama seems to have a "down game" early in most seasons... with either losing the game or almost losing the game. After that "down game", they come back with a force. Ole Miss picked up a couple of wins early in the season vs Bama and Bama bounced right back in 2014 and 2015... Bama was clearly the better team both times. This year it was Florida that gave Bama the 'wake up call', and I don't see Bama having a letdown again this year in the regular season. Bulldogs4
Very true there. Florida had their opportunity and did not cash in. I think State can make the game respectable since it is at home. This weeks game for Bama @ A&M will tell us more about what happens next Saturday. Bama was emotionally ready for Ole Miss and it is reasonable to think they will be @ A&M. It is a Saturday night on CBS and another chance to showcase themselves to the nation. Hopefully they play another almost perfect game. Then because it is difficult to play three straight great games they will be due for a bit of a letdown. Thus the State game could be a bit closer than everyone expects. Again that is predicated on them playing a near perfect game Saturday. If they struggle this Saturday then it’s lights out for us early and often on the 16th. We will see what happens this weekend first though.
MSTSatchmo
I’m really interested in the Arkansas/OM game. Someone will bounce back and someone will be starting to question how good they were.
Bulldogs4
Ole Miss beats Arkansas. Arkansas is playing hard and above their talent level. They no longer have the advantage of slipping up on teams. Other teams are much better prepared for them since they are no longer a cellar dweller. When teams are pretty evenly matched overall, I tend to go with the team that has the better offense. Arkansas probably has a better defense than OM, but OM definitely has the bette offense. Arkansas is still mainly a run threat.

Thankfully, Arkansas is not Alabama. Of course, Ole Miss is not Georgia either. I think this will be a very close game.
MSTSatchmo
Arkansas will need to run and keep OM’s offense off the field. They won’t win a shootout.
