Hattiesburg at Oak Grove.

I think it comes down to how good Hattiesburg really is right now offensively. I think defensively, they should be able to keep them in the game with how good their front is. Oak Grove has probably played a little bit tougher of a schedule through 2 games. I think Oak Grove wins in a good, hard fought battle that could go either way depending on how Hattiesburg does offensively.

Just curious, what makes you think that? Not saying it cant happen. It did last year

I’ve bet on Hattiesburg to many times and looked like an idiot. I’ve watched Oak Grove and they are really good up front and physical. Seems to be Hattiesburg’s kryptonite not to mention I believe special teams will be a factor.

Glad to know you have a new found respect for OG. I don’t think we’ve played anywhere near A game yet but hopefully the switch goes off soon.

OG defensive front is active and physical. That will carry you a long way in HS football especially in late November when it gets cold. OG defense held Starkville in check offensively and I personally don’t see many teams doing that. Also, to hold that Germantown offense to 25 seems like a loss but it is not. They are really good offensively. Last year they averaged over 40 points a game and I believe they will be the same this year.

They have OG’s former offensive coordinator as the head coach. He’s solid. And knows OG inside and out.

I have been impressed with what Germantown has been offensively. If they could halfway play defense they would be hard to beat.

I also believe that OG can compete with Gulfport if they continue to improve. I have watched the first 2 weeks on livestream and they have a solid bunch. Just my untrained opinion.

He knows Picayune inside and out too (he better). LOL.  I remember watching him take snaps under center.  Doesn't seem like it was all that long ago either, but I reckon it was.

Warren Central will probably hot clock Germantown tonight. I believe they are the 2nd best team in the state behind Tupelo after two weeks.

Vott, I can agree that Warren Central can beat Germantown, but to say they'll get hot clocked seems to be a stretch.  That would reflect on a lack of preparation (getting caught with your pants down) and I don't think you'll get that out of Germantown.  Win or lose, I believe Germantown will be prepared for this game.

You can prepare and still get hot clocked. Thats just how good I think Warren Central is. Just like a few years ago when Hburg played West Point in the title game. They were so ready to play and had a great week of practice and then ran into a team that was leaps and bound on another level.

Kinda hard to do that when I am at a game on Friday Night.

Which would explain your take but most teams who stream have an on demand feature.

You are a way bigger fan of high school football than I am to go on demand to watch other teams. I will go watch a game on a Thursday night in person or on a Friday if we have an open date. But to be sitting at home and say I think I will go back and watch the South Panola/Grenada game from last week. No thank you.

Oak Grove played Germantown… I don’t watch everyone but I do pay attention to most of the contenders.

But to your point, it’s hard to take an opinion serious if you don’t actually know much about other teams outside of your own.

Gulfport is in this league also. Warren Central won’t hot clock them but I expect a 10-14 point win for WC. However, I also wouldn’t be surprised if Germantown was up 3 and then WC turns it over late to give Germantown a 10 point win either.
