Olcoach77
I know its hard to say because everything is private, but it would be interesting to know how much the top private school football coaches make in the state of Ms now. Was very below average back in the 80s, it took less to survive on back then too. lol
Dub312
I’m sure it has changed drastically, but I interviewed for a coaching position at a private school in Marion county. The proposed number was around 14.5. That was teaching and assisting in 2 sports.

Doc
I was a coach at a private school, head football, head baseball and I taught and only made 44,000 a year.
lionpack
I’ve also taught/coached at a small private school but 14,500 took me off guard.
doyouevencoachbro
You can look at some of the schools pay schedule and see they don't pay teacher very well. Then you add a few thousand here and there. The better option will always be public schools.
Football In MS
Private school pay is poor - which is why we see so many teachers retire from public and then go teach private once they have full state retirement and benefits. On paper, coaches probably make less than in reality… once the boosters handle vehicles, additional stipends and such. I need a list of the private schools providing vehicles.
s1nglewing
As a HC at a very small private school I banked 36k, rent-free coach/family housing, country club membership, free meals at the one diner in town (so I paid for other folks meals), hunting club membership, and at cost tires and anything else my vehicles needed. Butts in the stands percentage and a substantial percentage of athletic fundraisers. My kids tuition was paid, too... so not a terribly bad deal, other than having to live one hour from the closest Walmart/grocery store/barber. All told, compensation was probably pretty decent. One and done though. The area was still, at that time, poorly dealing with integration 40+ years later

dawgbear
My salary for Head Football/Athletic Director/Teacher in 2006-2007 and 2007-2008 was $42,000. This was at a then MPSA Class 1A School.
NothingAsItSeems
at the time had 10+ years experience: pay was under 35 grand, coach at least one more major sport with possibly a second minor sport, teach 3 preps in a six period day, only 30% discount on kids tuition with no discount on afterschool care (mine were too young to hang around practice after school), had duty before school & lunch because non-coaches were not assigned duties... no vehicles or country club or free meals or any of that kind of bonuses were given to any coaches including the 300+ wins Head Coach
