What would happen if Long Beach beats Hancock and Picayune beats PRC? That would leave PRC at 2-3, Long Beach at 2-3, and the winner of Goula/Gautier at 2-3. Remember you only get 12pts on a tiebreaker. So on a tiebreaker, a 20pt on field victory would only be a 12pt victory in solving a tiebreaker. I see Gautier beating Goula. Hancock will beat Long Beach unless Hancock wants to rest a few guys and not risk injury. Picayune could do the same as them and Hancock are already locked in at no.1 and no. 2 seeds. If the chalk holds on this, it would send Gautier to West Jones and PRC back to Hattiesburg again. Would we get George County again too? Hburg is starting to play like we thought they would in the beginning of the season. The oline has slowly been getting better, our starting rb is finally healthy and the defense has stepped up big time. Hhs is just a bad match up for WJ. Heck, I am (Hattiesburg) 0-7 in state championship games. So if we are fortunate enough to get back there again and lose again it will be ok. The pain and disappointment of losing a title game went away after the 1998 title game vs South Panola which was the 4th time to go. I was really impressed with the way #22 played against Gautier. I know he hasn't played much this year at tailback, but he definitely provides a punch when you need to start going downhill to get a 1st down. I just hope we've got some passes we can throw and complete because right now our passing game is beyond graveyard dead. I don't think we attempted a single pass against Gautier. You can go to MaxPreps to compare and that will give you specific numbers, but it's about half of last year's regarding yardage and TD's.
