Picayune at Hattiesburg

Might as well get it started. Hattiesburg looking to repeat as 6a South State Champs. Picayune looking to get payback from last season. Get there early. Its gonna be a good one

You’re absolutely correct in your second statement.  It’s definitely not the same Picayune team.  Marinate on that line of thought for a bit.

Come on Mac. Picayune is always the same. Their RB had like 350yds rushing in the first half. Defensively they may not be as strong as past teams, but that offense is still same ol Picayune

Most definitely, can’t deny that. Here’s the the thing, Hattiesburg is more polished now than they were last year at this point and it’s funny because I was just thinking about this, if Hattiesburg doesn’t win a championship within these next 2 years then idk what to tell you. I’m standing on my prediction Hattiesburg by 14

I’m afraid you’re missing the point here.  When you said, “This isn’t the same Picayune team.”  You probably meant that Picayune isn’t as good as they have been.  Dowdell was generational talent that you don’t see every year.  That statement though can be left up to interpretation because it doesn’t have a specific timeframe in which it’s covering.  Let me ask you this:  Is this the same Picayune team from just 3 weeks ago, or even 5 weeks ago?  I hope you can see why I agreed with your statement.

Has Hattiesburg played a game yet where they have to match the other team scoring because their defense can't bully them around ?  The new coach is doing fine but you can't simulate what Picayune does. Especially in less than a week.

 

Beware of the Maroon Tide as an underdog. You know they will be told all week about how they have no chance.

Just a few days ago pascagoula and Sims was supposed to be almighty but hburg took it to them. The only thing that stopped this game from getting further outta hand were the unfortunate injuries to their qb. Lacey is doing great not fine. Most media had hburg barely making the playoffs let alone winning their district and making it to south state. You're right its hard to simulate what Picayune does in a week but on the other side Picayune still gotta stop us as well. Lacey will have us ready for sure and I'm almost certain keys will play as well.

No I get what you’re saying, all im saying is, this is not the same picayune team that I’m accustomed to watching that’s all. I could be wrong but I just believe that Hattiesburg is 2 TD’s better.

Hattiesburg, including their 2 losses hasn't had a game where the margin of victory hasn't been less than 13pts. That was a 31 18 win over Laurel. Even in that win Laurel scored a late TD to cut it to 13

Sims and Pascagoula have never been mighty at anything. They were perfect for Hattiesburg if they got off to a slow start.  Never got their feet under them which is what a good coach will do . Not like the bum you used to defend before . 
Read what I wrote again. I don’t think Picayune will stop Hattiesburg but I also don’t think the Tigers will stop them. Picayune is used to managing the game to get the last possession. Is Hattiesburg ?

Slick I really like this coach at Hattiesburg. I wasn’t sure about him when they hired him but he knows what he’s doing.. you’re right about defense but they are very explosive on offense.

If my Alma mater (Gulfport) was not playing for a south state championship for the first time in 25 years, I would be going to this one. Should be a great game. Right now, I will take Hattiesburg in a close one.
