Ocean Springs vs Meridian Thursday Night Football!

Football season is here!!! Haven’t heard much about this game this week! Who’s coming out of Ray Stadium with a W? We’ve got 2 hrs and 15 min until the 2025-26 football season is officially underway! Let’s go!

Meridian is terrible. I didn't expect much but man are they poorly coached. I doubt they win 3 games. And the scoreboard did not even work either. They were definitely not ready for prime time tonight.

Can't run the QB every play, and that was pretty much the only offense they have.

Defensively,  the secondary is woeful.

I tend to agree about three wins, although that might be a stretch

Ocean Springs has their QB for the next three years, Meridian is finished as a high level football program, and installing blue turf was an idiotic decision.

Glad to see OS get the win.  Hopefully Meridian can start to put things back together soon. I was born in Meridian and I know High School football is better when they are relevant. Keep grinding! Good luck the rest of the season!

Whats wrong with the turf? Tupelo has blue turf as well

OS has a couple of guys with D1 offers.  They could represent the south in December, but I don't think they have enough to beat Tupelo.  They would have to hope someone upsets Tupelo in the North.  Not playing a competitive game in district could hurt Tupelo in the playoffs.

Meridian High has turned into a Jackson city school. Basketball is really all that matters there anymore.

Well just imagine a Jackson City school and their football team. Lack of interest in football, lack of fan interest, mediocre coaching. On the other hand, imagine just the opposite at Madison Central or Brandon. Good coaching, lot's of fan support, high interest in football among the students. At one time, Meridian was like Madison Cent.and Brandon, now it's more like Callaway and Murrah.
