Nebraska beat Cincy in a game that went down to the wire.

Off the radar game but Wyoming 10, Akron 0 sounds like a miserable experience… only bring it up as a reminder that Joe Moorhead as an FBS head coach flat out sucks

Hopefully he sends Saquon Barkley a Christmas card every year.

I actually think he’s a solid OC, they liked him at Oregon too when he was there. So he will probably resurface again as a Big 10 coordinator somewhere once Akron inevitably fires him.

But the guy is a train wreck at head coach, the proof is in the pudding now.

That game was exactly what I expected. I still don’t think State is very good, but they’re not as bad as last year. Penalties kept this game from being something like 45-10. I suspect that area will improve as season goes on. But the schedule still is what it is.

I don’t love State’s chances against Arizona State but maybe playing at home will bring out a good performance.

I stayed on the Ohio State/Texas game but had the MSU/USM game on TV2. MSU and USM both look better than last year, with more work to do.

Ohio State and Texas? Both defenses looked very good but both QBs looked fairly average. We'll see how they progress as the season unfolds.

I expected a defensive battle with 2 QB’s that were going to feel their way through the game. I’m giving them both a pass on this game. I think a lot of Texas’ problem was more on Sark’s play calling than Arch’s inability to get anything going til late. It was like Sark was calling scared most of the game.

Tonight I set in the same seat watching Simmons in his first start with an inexperienced Ole Miss team as I did when I watched Dart take on Troy in his first start with an inexperienced Ole Miss team. Other than the way the OL started off, I prefer this go around so far. It’s ok to run the ball more!!! 3 4 yard rushes move the chains.

Good win for LSU on the road. Not that I like LSU but for the SEC it was a good win.
Ole Miss rolled as expected.

AZ State & State is intriguing match up. We are certainly improved and they don’t have Skattebo any more. That guy was a freight train last year. We have got to clean up the penalties on offense. Certainly it may be a competitive game and being at home with a big crowd in DWS will hopefully help.

We will see what happens. I will be there. At the very least it feels good going into a game where I feel we have a boxer’s chance.

Arizona State beat their FCS opening opponent but wasn’t overly impressive in the process. Granted, State didn’t play very well either for about 60% of the game yesterday.

I do believe State made enough improvements on defense where it’s unlikely you see a situation like last year where ASU could have run for a million yards if they really wanted to. They ended up with 346 yards on 6 YPC. I don’t think a repeat of that happens. However, Leavitt their QB is in a much different place now than he was in the game last year. He didn’t even have to pass much at all in that game and didn’t look great when he did, but he went on to have a very good passing year. So, it’s definitely not going to be as simple as stop the run and you win. Pass D will have to show up too, and granted I thought the secondary played quite well in yesterday’s game, better than i expected. Talent level will obviously be a step up next week, ASU has a WR that is a projected 1st round pick.

The other issue with ASU is they have a very experienced defense that brings back a ton from last year. Shapen will have to be sharp. State’s offense didn’t do anything in last year’s game until the score was 30-3.

They replaced Skattebo with someone who may be just as good. They should be better than they were last year. Definitely a dark horse for the national title this year

Well I guess I will stay home then since we have no chance.

But JK, I will still be there anyway.

I did not say we would win but at the least hopefully we can make it competitive.

Replacing a generational player like Skattebo with someone just as good will be interesting to see with my own eyes. That guy had a presence that elevated the whole team (like Mangum in baseball). If this new guy can do that as well, I will tip my hat to him.

Couldn’t watch the 2nd half of their game due to espn having problems. But they looked sloppy, especially with penalties. If both of us don’t clean up on penalties it’s gonna be a hard watch next week. But still, they’re one of the most lethal teams in the country when they want to be, for example the peach bowl against Texas last year. I know it’s been 9 months since then but u gotta believe that’s still in them with how much they’ve returned

Peach Bowl was another game that was saved by Scattebo. He threw for a TD, ran for 150 yards with 2 TD’s and had 100 yards receiving. To think their offense wouldn’t fall off some this year is just ridiculous. They still have talent but losing a guy like him will take a hit on the offense and it was evident yesterday. Kyson Brown is no Scattebo. State’s hardest tests will be trying to contain Jordyn Tyson and not let Leavitt beat them with his legs.
