Just thought I'd clarify that. I don’t think we have a coffin even if we miss the playoffs. They will just make more biscuits even though there is plenty of bisques there now. I have put my guts out there for everyone to see. Let tomorrow night pass and count the chips. 11 hours ago, CrimsonUnit1988 said: I remember those days as well but we both know that 4A then is basically what 5A is now with a mix of the 6A teams. Early 2000s, 4A South was arguably the strength of MS football give or take a few years. Back then you had GC, d'Iberville, Picayune, South Pike, McComb, Laurel, Wayne Co (dropped to 4A), Brookhaven, West Jones. Those were some tough outs. That was a coaching meat grinder. Peavey, Coach Boyles, Milton Smith, Al Jones, Scott Pierson, Dodd Lee to name a few. I wish it was still like that. Coaching for the most part in South MS hasn’t replaced those men. I think Jones would've actually stayed at GC and not retired when he did if it wasn't for administration that had came in while he was there. He would've stayed longer and then Pierson went on for 20 years at WJ. I still remember that 2002 playoff game at WJ when GC elected for a free kick at the end of the half and nailed it from 50+ yards. Won 17-12 and was WJ's only loss that season. slicklizard
Wayne County at Florence Natchez at Gautier Provine at Laurel Vancleave at Brookhaven Brookhaven looks to have the surest draw although Florence will work us good too with our bad defense. Btookhaven beware Brookhaven at home in the playoffs
