The State’s ultimate rivalry is upon us this week.  Who you got and why?  Let the trash talking begin!

HHS gotta play better on defense and special teams this week for sure to have a chance. Expect the unexpected when this game is played

This is my favorite time of the year. A rivalry that now feels like I have been apart of in all of my 47 years on this earth. I cannot wait

How much blood and sweat did you have to endure making the bricks at Laurel’s stadium?  Being from the brick city I can see the connection that you have to the bricks.  I guess Laurel’s stadium is the ultimate Brick City.

Here’s what I don’t understand.  If the mayor of Madison initiated a brick standard into the city ordinances, then how come their football stadium is metal bleachers?  Shouldn’t Madison Central have built a stadium out of all brick just like Laurel did?  In a way Madison Central’s stadium is violating city code LOL!

I have often thought the same thing. That would be awesome to have a stadium built like most college stadiums look now days.

Mr. Mike I look forward to seeing you again. Although, I will be cheering for Laurel this year. We will make a trip to K-rocks fried chicken before the game, and we are happy to bring you a plate if you would like?

I am a former 5 year resident  of Madison. First thought that came to my head about that brick stadium was the it could only be built so high to meet Mary’s ordinances. I have is no idea if she still the mayor of Madison. Apparently not from the buildings I have seen riding by.

I will take the Tigers in a close one. Hopefully the Tiger defense went to work fixing some holes in their scheme. Huge game. Vance going to have his boys ready.

Only way Hattiesburg fixes those holes is to scrap the entire defense and go back to last years.

@Vott& @Deonte3455y'all got differing opinions on this?  What do you think will happen here?

Who knows? Strange things happen in the brown jug game. One yr we score 4tds in 3 minutes and steal a win. Another yr we are one win away from a region title and get a 50pc shutout put on us.

When has Hattiesburg ever won a state championship in the current playoff format that was established in 1981! You could possibly find Big 8 football championship team from earlier decades!

Hattiesburg has won a state playoff championship in 1924 and 4 Big 8 Championships in 1933, 1934, 1935, & 1952.  So to answer your question, they haven't won an MHSAA title in the current playoff era.
