That's a feller who's highly revered in Waynesboro too.  I know the Wayne County folks are happy for him.

He’s been a good teacher of football wherever he’s been. Glad to hear your endorsement. Thanks.

Ocean Springs also adding a quality defensive coordinator with experience at some of the top programs in the state, including state championship pedigree.

🐾 Introducing the new general of the Greyhound Defense, Chase Carmody! Husband to Shannon and proud father of Collins (5) and Callie (1). Chase spent the last three seasons as Head Coach at Pass Christian, leading the Pirates to their second winning season in 20 years & consecutive playoff appearances. Prior to that, he served as Defensive Coordinator at Pearl where he helped lead the Pirates to 2 south state championships, a 16-0 record, & the 6A state title in 2017.

My daughter Graduated high with Tracy Lampley he a qualified coach and a Great young man. Now on to the DC he comes from a football family I believe his grandfather is former USM head Coach Jim Carmody. If I wrong someone please correct me.

I hear nothing but good things about both of these coaches. It took me a minute to get over losing our coaches after such a good year, but we’re making some really good choices to build for next season. I have been aware of Lampley’s career and reputation, and have learned a lot about Carmody and his defensive coordinator skills at Pearl and other places.

I think Ocean Springs upgraded their coaching staff top to bottom and is a significant upgrade from last year.  Ocean Springs vs. Picayune this fall will be a war.  Mark my words.

Hard to say that the roster will be improved after losing losing possibly the best player in the state in Hubbard, but it’s possible with the returning players and the upcoming freshman class. Defense would have returned almost everybody if their best player hadn’t been recruited and walked away with our former coach.(no, I’m not bitter). The schedule will be upgraded with Picayune, Madison Central, and Northwest Rankin among others. These coaches coming in have the other coaches excited and almost glad to have shaken up the staff. New facilities at the stadium are coming, even though the athletic director spot hasn’t been filled. Looks like the program is headed up in the long run.
