Only 1 from Raleigh, Mize maybe maybe not, Taylorsville probably at least 1.

There are no coaches at Mize that are interested in the Tville job. That I can assure you. I know Adrian Agee is at Tville and he will be interested. I think he has a chance to get it. Depends on who all else applies.

okay smith county being you good people

have taken over this topic give us some insight on the type of coach granger is

He’s a good young coach. He’s young, so obviously he still gonna learn a lot. I will be honest though, I’m very surprised he got the sumrall job considering he only has 1 year of head coaching experience.

hope this is just someone that had content for granger sumrall has done without in getting quality coaches in a lot of sports for years coaches mean everything when a school has success football at sumrall has been non existent for several years nevil barr showed what having a good coach could do basketball use to be top sport at sumrall but not hiring coaches to teach solid fundamentals has made sumrall be what might could have been

Sumrall’s boys basketball team was poised for a run at the state title in 2024 but an unfortunate situation with one of their starters right as playoffs began really screwed them over. So their coaching can’t have been too bad to have had the season they had last year.

Sumrall has been a baseball school - primarily - as of late. But they’ve always had enough football talent to have guys playing at the next level here & there. So there are athletes in the system. They just need to be developed and disciplined. If the new coach can come in and build relationships, he’ll do fine. Sumrall is a community that’ll come together and get behind coaches who pour into their athletes.

Bo Russom (DC at Columbia) 2-10 in 1 year at Terry

Chris Fortenberry (DC at Sumrall) 16-19 in 3 years at Richton. 2 Playoff Appearances

Michael Kelly (HC at Caledonia) 36 - 45 in 7 years at Caledonia 5 Playoff Appearances

Drew Granger (HC at Taylorsville) 6-6 in 1 year at Taylorsville 1 Playoff Appearance

Granger must have more potential

Kelly would have been a homerun hire.

I ain't got no kid on the team just a nephew but that was the worse coach team I seen in Tville in a long time.  Had a good coach he left to Petal and got this cat and everybody got worse.  The man complain about our hard schedule but the last 100 coaches we had always schedule hard like that that why win always good.  Nobody like him & we ain't had no bad coach for a long time.

Why would people think any of these would be great hires? None having winning track record based on these numbers here. You can't base it on playoff appearances b/c of MHSAA taking 4 teams each division. They may have made the playoffs with 1-2 wins. Must be different numbers out there for these guys, or better applicants but that's just an opinion
