Dawg83
Kiffin has a ton of leverage and he knows it. Auburn is a good job but he could always stay put another year or two and hold out for an even better one. If the rumor is true about Cohen being a roadblock in all this… LOL. That guy can’t help himself but try to outsmart everybody else. Edited November 24, 2022 by Dawg83

I think it’s funny seeing the narrative go from “Lane is holding out for the Bama job because that’s his dream job” to “Lane wants to take over Auburn and own Bama in Saban’s last few years”. MSTSatchmo
It’s all just entertaining to me. Can’t wait for Friday as much as Thursday. Then there’s the Leach retiring rumor. Lol

I just haven’t seen anyone credible that thinks the Leach thing is actually coming. Feels like wishful thinking from the extreme fringes of Elite Dawgs and Gene’s Page. MSTSatchmo
The Realtree guy seems to be claiming Kiffin is staying. He should be able to get inside info. Some of those fans will have to swallow their pride after trashing Kiffin like they have. Surely OM will have more class than to play a Wolf of Wallstreet clip before the game with a stadium full of families.
pancho
Something is planned for inside the stadium exactly 30 minutes before kickoff so now I figure Lane is staying put for another year. Who knows?

Who knows? Yep. Sources have told OM reporters that Kiffin told the the team unless something significantly changes he’s planning on staying there. That sounds like a sure thing. pancho
Kiffin told the team last night that as for now, he's staying put and they'd be the first to know if anything changes and don't pay attention to rumors on social media.

s1nglewing
Bet. Ole Miss has a different OC next season.
MSTSatchmo
OM 16-14 at the half. OM probably should have two defensive TDs and Mingo dropped a possible TD also. OM has done a good job of covering State’s WRs. Rogers looks a little confused until that last drive and then he still looked skittish. If State’s offense can’t move the ball to start the second half, their defense will wear down and OM will get the run game going. Oh and everyone in the world new Pegues was getting the ball on that 4th down play. The one guy that needed to be covered was wide open. Bulldogs4
Ole Miss should be up 35-14 right now.
Bulldogs4
Or possibly 42-7.
rebmus
Kudos to State, they just outplayed OM at the end of the day today.

Second half they did. First half OM didn’t take advantage in the red zone. State’s defense saved Rogers. Impressive play by #5 on the 2 point conversion for State. #14 was the man thought for State. He was all over the field. Edited November 25, 2022 by MSTSatchmo
MSTSatchmo
Holding OM to 78 yards rushing was insane. Add to that State had just under 100 after -40 by Rogers. Marks for State is a tough dude.
Bulldogs4
Rogers tried to give the game away. Defense and special teams saved the day. I heard a stat on the radio and I may be wrong here. But here goes: The last seven that Ole Miss has scored 30+ points they are 7-0 against State. The last nine times that Ole Miss has scored under 30 points , State is 9-0 against Ole Miss. Bizarre. Ole Miss just did not take advantage of their opportunities. State lost the TO battle 3-1 and still won which is very unusual. Reb, you are right. Often times, the team that wants it more, wins and tonight State wanted it more. Feels good to win this one. Much needed win for State. I am enjoying a Tullamore Dew right now. Would like to smoke a cigar but the rain is messing that up tonight.
MSTSatchmo
OM had some success early throwing the ball, but I thought they didn’t run it as much as I was expecting. They had 39 rushes which was just two more than State. I believe they had been rushing around 50 times per game. I know State was doing a good job against the run, but Judkins can break it at any time. Edited November 25, 2022 by MSTSatchmo

Bulldogs4
I said we needed to run it at least 35 times to win and we did.
Bulldogs4
One other thing I wish they would just call the series by the games won/lost on the field. On the field the series looks like this: Ole Miss 64 State 49 Ties 6 The ridiculous vacated games and forfeits skew the rivalry. Just show it as played on the field. The forfeits in 1976-77 were totally bogus as was these recent vacated wins by both teams. Just my opinion. But if you were an Ole Miss fan and saw the wins in 2012/2014 they were WINS. I was in Jackson in 1976-1977 when State won the games on the field. Just let all those games count. Okay rant over. No malice to my Ole Miss friends. I am too old for that these days. Dawg83
Marks and Johnson are the best players on State‘s offense and I’m not sure it’s close. Maybe Griffin is in that conversation too. But it’s no coincidence that the overwhelming majority of State’s best games under Leach have come when they’ve leaned on the RB’s. That’s a heck of a win for State, and a potentially major momentum shifting one in the rivalry depending on what happens with Kiffin. State needed that badly. Both teams finish 8-4. Mixed bag type of years for both if we are being honest. Ole Miss ended up having an identical finish to the #WeBelieve State team of 2012. I think most State fans will take 8-4 and be mostly fine with it, but the four losses were UGLY. We will see on bowl destinations now. I think both have a good chance of being in a Florida bowl as we sit here today. Edited November 25, 2022 by Dawg83
