CFB Week 13 Thread

Ole Miss could be on a slippery slope @ Florida but not this year. Ole Miss wins a solid game 24-13.
83 called for State to win. It sure would be nice to see. I can envision this game being a high scoring wild and wooly game. State finally gets a bit of luck and some timely turnovers to win 41-38.
Auburn’s JH voodoo has evaporated over the 3-4 years. A&M wins going away 28-17.

Bama over Okie 42-16

Vandy beats LSU and it will not be an upset. 31-20.

Can Kentucky pull one more road upset? Yes. Texas is flat and KY wins 20-17 as TX misses a late FG.
Ohio State handles Indiana but it will not be easy

30-28.

Army beats Notre Dame for the first time since 1958, 16-14 and the Cadets storm the field at Yankee Stadium. NCAA fines Army but a flood of GoMe donations cover the cost and more.

Did not see that coming. But Florida is a much better team today than they were in September.
For Ole Miss, the failure to cash in on your opportunities cost you all three games.
I said at the beginning of the season, you usually have three games you can win on emotion and three stinker games a year. The key for Ole Miss was to find a way to win those three stinker games. They failed to do it.
Most years an 8-3 record heading into the State-Ole Miss game would be welcome. Unfortunately for Ole Miss, not this year.

Will be interested to see how OM plays Friday. They should be able to name the score against State and because it is a rivalry game, they should not be flat.
We will see what happens.

There has been talk for weeks of a 3 loss SEC team being able to sneak in.  Does OM deserve to be that team?  No, but where they rank this week will tell if there is any shot.  A few crazy outcomes and you never know.
After the second loss a lot of OM fans called the season over, but a week later with some upsets there was hope.   No doubt though they wasted probably the most talented overall team roster in school history.  It was built for making a 4 team playoff, and most likely won’t get in the 12 team playoff.

The only sure thing is this loss means OM will win the Egg Bowl 84-0.

the d sure looked to give up rush yards today. this is the ultimate judge of character for players who are now compensated and fall short of a common goal.

I just don’t see how they get in now. I think this will be a pretty sizable drop behind teams like SMU, Boise, A&M if they win tonight, etc. And playing State gives them no chance for a quality win.

I’m getting less sold on MVB with every week. I get that he’s the freshman and is in a tough spot… but not sure he’s the clear starter going into next year anymore.

If he has to compete for the job then he will be gone. He has to be one of the few players that Lebby said was already being contacted by other schools.

That doesn’t make any $ense. Why would he not expect to have to compete for the QB Job?

If Shapen comes back and Parson as well, you could have a three way battle for the position.

He has played reasonably well for a FR but he is not set the world on fire either. Certainly nothing that would guarantee it to him.

I assume Indiana now stays in the hunt partly due to the ole miss loss

Tennessee is definitely in if they win next week.

The Ole Miss loss may keep Indiana in... it definitely opened a spot.

IF Army beats Notre Dame in a close game, I can see ND staying in at a low seed and Army getting in also.

Ole Miss’ season this year reminds me of the 1981 State season. Lost 4 games by a combined total of 19 points. Had the best defense in the nation. Played flat against Mizzou and lost by 11. 3 point loss at Bama and we were at the goal line late and threw an INT in the end zone, missed a chip shot FG in the 4th quarter and lost to USM by one point, and then had the bogus interference call in the end zone against OM and lost by 4.

All kinds of potential for that team to win a NC or at least be a top ten/five team. Incredibly frustrating to say the least.

So I know how you feel. And it sucks…

Have you not been paying attention to college football the past few years.

Well certainly and it is the Wild West these days. So nothing will surprise me. Earning your way to a starting position seems to be a foreign concept. Just give me money.
Oh and do I have to actually practice…
