  1. Quick answer says Picayune, Gautier and PRC. Does Pascagoula have a team capable of beating Picayune? I think they do. Does that team show up? Not a clue at all. LOL. After seeing how Gulfport beat Ocean Springs, I am not as hard on Pascagoula for their bad loss to Gulfport. However, they have got to figure it out. 3 game stretch they had with OS, d’Iberville, and Gulfport would be tough for anyone. If they can get healthy and get back pieces they are missing and get some better play up front, it should be a good game. I think Gautier wins by whatever they want, same with PRC.
  2. Hard to say you need to get rid of a coach that won a state title just 2 years ago. What is going on? If you feel more comfortable sharing privately, PM me.
  3. Not sure honestly. LOL. High school football is a fickle thing. Common opponents in most cases is never a good barometer. Look at our game vs you guys. You’d think with y’all beating Gulfport, and us taking care of you, that we should have been fine tonight. Nope, got it put to us. It can be a good thing taking a loss like that. Regroup, get our heads out of the social media hype and play ball.
  4. Gulfport 41 Os 28 Final score made it look better than it was but Gulfport took us to the wood shed. Couple of garbage time TDs made it look better but we better figure out how to stop the ground and pound, and quick.
  5. Gulfport all over OS 41-14 right now in 4th. Gulfport seems to be catching their stride. Dominated us up front on both sides all night. Our big offensive line got abused all night, including our SEC commit at tackle.
  6. Gulfport having their way with Ocean Springs at the moment 20-7 at Half. Aside from 1 big play, Gulfport has bottled us up.
  7. Well, they are currently up on MGCCC. Shows what I know. lol.
  8. I was talking to a buddy of mine the other day about it. They have had a ton of pretty tough injuries I have heard (including season ending ones to the starting and backup quarterback) so I imagine that is playing a role. On the other hand. Smith in is in what, year five, and they are still not competing at a level that is capable? His recruiting and signing classes have been suspect for the most part. They have had one winning season and have not made the playoffs once? He has had enough time to really make some headway. I think it is time for them to move on.
  9. Agree 100%. However, if he is the best option at quarterback and helps them win, I think you almost have to do it.
  10. d'Iberville seems legit defensively. Missing their best defensive player still as well. Adding him back soon probably makes them stronger. Their offense has finally opened things up some. Going from true wing-t to more shotgun spread sets and utilizing Walley has helped them a lot. I am actually surprised at how well they and West Harrison have looked. Gulfport has lost two tough ones to two good teams in Picayune and Petal. They did struggle vs. Laurel, but that was played between the bricks and if you know, you know. St. Martin is fools gold to me until they prove otherwise. They have played nobody with a pulse yet outside of Stone who is beat up and missing several pieces. West Harrison does have a nice win over Poplarville and have looked strong against everyone else. OS is still navigating and finding our rhythm offensively but I think they are getting there. d'Iberville appears to be the real deal so far. Biloxi appears to be better from what I have seen and heard. You are going to have 5 teams scrapping it out for 4 spots. It should be a fun region run for everyone.
  11. You can see they have a good team. Their defense gave us fits all night. We struggled moving the ball and if not for what looked like busted coverage on one of our passes that let our Tight End get wide open, it may have only been 14 we scored. They moved it on us pretty good as well at times, but penalties or turnover kept them from capitalizing. They also had a long TD pass called back for offensive PI. QB is a big question mark. The Loper kid that came in against us looked really good for being a mainly defensive player. I heard he did okay at times Friday vs. d'Iberville and missed a few throws that cost them but they looked much more dynamic with him than Glaude, in my opinion. You can see Glaude has potential but he looks like a young guy figuring it out right now. If they can get healthy and find their rhythm at quarterback, I think they have a chance. I can say having seen both Picayune and Pascagoula in person, they are both quality football teams that I believe could win south 6A.
  12. From what I am told, Pascagoula is missing their best RB, WR and QB and have played two really good teams in Ocean Springs (you could argue they should have won that) and d'Iberville (in that game late before some costly turnovers gave the Warriors two scores to pull away) and Biloxi who does appear to be improved (should have won that one). They have another tough matchup with Gulfport coming up this Friday. Going through all of that while playing four quality 7A football teams is tough. If they can get healthy soon and find their rhythm, I think they are still the second best team in region 4 at worst and honestly could play with Picayune. They will definitely be prepared for region/playoffs. It is important to remember what playing quality football teams early can do for you. Ocean Springs was 1-4 after pre region and ended up losing a tough one to Brandon in South State. Defensively, Gautier appears down. They have played two, very bad teams and beat them soundly. They have played two, good teams and have been boat raced in both. I think right now, them at PRC will be battling it out for the 3 and 4 seeds in the region while Picayune and Pascagoula battle for 1st and 2nd.
  13. I expect this to be a great matchup. Ocean Springs battled a tough team last week in Pascagoula and has another one this week with Picayune. These games definitely make you ready for region and into playoffs. No better way to prepare than a tough non-region schedule. I will hold off on a prediction because I have personal ties with the Greyhounds and I do not want to jinx anything. LOL
  14. It will be pretty close to kick off I believe. I am flying back in from Dallas that afternoon. Should be home around 4-5. Going to test speed traps to make it before kick off! LOL
  15. Agree 100%. OS was 1-4 through its first 5 last year and ended up playing for South State. I absolutely believe playing those teams early on, even in losses paid dividends once it got to region play and in the playoffs.
  16. As far as I know, pretty much everyone I think is using GoFan
  17. He said they were healthy but mostly just wanted to take precaution and let younger players that could use the reps play. He mentioned one had just come back mid week from Covid so Sims decided to sit them as well. I think he said it was a RB, DB, WR, an OL and one more, but I cannot remember what position.
  18. Will be curious to see what Gulfport looks like. Heard mixed reviews of Jamboree vs. Oak Grove. Just off the cuff, I will go with Picayune in a 35-24 type of game.
  19. I talked to one of their broadcast guys the other day and he said they sat 4-5 starters (RB Jackson and DB Johnson being two of them) and played their "starters" basically a quarter and then started to rotate younger kids in and out afterward. He said it was a mixed bag of rotation guys and some starters but said their true starting rotation only played a few series. He said Wayne scored on 3 big pass plays after starters came out but did have high praise for #5 at Wayne County. He said he looked really, really good.
  20. Brother, East Central is BAD from what I saw of their jamboree last week. Might be a long season in Hurley.
  21. Oh they want them to practice. How and when they want them to. LOL Don't ya know the MHSAA is all about player safety and acclimatation?!
  22. I am sure it did, but the point still stands. If he was QB1 at a powerhouse program like Milton in a huge football state like Georgia, I do not think he is playing for Hattiesburg HS. Tristen Keys or not. Obviously Lacey has connections and was able to get in contact with his people and got him in there. Which is great for Hattiesburg because it probably answered their biggest question mark offensively.
  23. I mean this in a respectful way. But there is almost 0% chance a kid who is starting at Milton, GA would make the decision to transfer to Hattiesburg. You’re comparing programs on two completely different levels. Brayln went to Milton to be the guy, most likely got beat out (by a 6’1 220 transfer from STA in Florida) and his folks started shopping around. It’s definitely a gain for Hattiesburg, but I highly doubt that kid leaves Milton if he was the starting QB
  24. Here is the full rule from the MHSAA Handbook for 2025-2026 year regarding practice. "The football season shall extend from Monday, August 4, 2025, for classes 1A, 2A, 3A, 4A, 5A, 6A and 7A through the first full weekend in December. A scrimmage may be played August 22, 2025, for all classes. The regular season playing date will be August 28, 2025, for all classes. (With the beginning of fall football practice, players shall not wear football pads of any kind, football togs or football jerseys. Week 1 (Monday through Friday) helmets, face guards, mouthpieces and shoes are legal for the first week of practice (5 days). Week 2 Monday through Friday, shoulder pads can be worn – shorts/shoulder pads and helmets. After the completion of weeks 1 and 2, players can begin to practice in full gear.)
  25. He transferred into Milton from Milwaukee to be the guy. Then Milton had a transfer apparently move in from St. Thomas Aquinas in Florida who was going to be their QB1 so Hattiesburg was able to gain from that situation.
