Cleveland Central looked good in their spring game. They gave West Point a run for their money in the playoffs last year. Biggest question for them going into the season is at QB since Beamon graduated and went to Tulane. They got some solid production from whoever they used the other day. They’ve got some speedsters at the skill position and some good sized kids on both lines from what I saw.

I’m interested to see how Region’s 4 and 6 play out in 3A. IMO arguably two of the toughest/most complete regions in all the classes. Up North it would suck to get you a home playoff game as #2 seed and see either Choctaw County, Winona or Noxubee County come strolling in as the #3 seed. Same as down south with a JDC, Raleigh, Seminary or Magee come strolling in as a #3 seed.

Anything to discuss about the other 79 schools mentioned?

The Super Clash at DSU that was scheduled for today has been moved to Monday. Only game result from yesterday I know of is Simmons beat Gentry 12-0.
-
I’m assuming that’s Enterprise Clarke not Lincoln.

What I’ve always loved about college baseball is you don’t have to be some big named college to play for and win a World Series. It’s been the MS schools best chance for a national championship over the years. You can also have the Fresno St and Coastal Carolina’s of the world make some noise. You get hot at the right time offensively and/or have two lights out pitchers with a decent bullpen and you got a chance.

State is a sleeping giant that with the right hire could rack up national championships. As an Ole Miss fan I hope they strike out with the hire lol. Seriously though with the facility and MLB success, there’s no reason why State shouldn’t be a consistent Omaha team year in and year out. It’s a destination location and college baseball blue blood. Ugh I gotta go take a shower and clean up after saying that.

In case you were wondering about Neville, they’re kind of like a championship caliber 5A MS school. They’ll be reloading at the skill position but defensively they should be rather good. I’m kind of surprised Oak Grove chose this game instead of a south LA team. I would’ve loved to see yall vs Central out of Baton Rouge. They beat Neville in the playoffs but Neville gave them their closest game. Basically same distance to Monroe though.

Having Chip Kelly as your OC with the weapons they had didn’t hurt.

More than likely no Brakefield tonight. His 10 pts/5 reb plus clutch FT shooting will be missed if so.

What a game. Sucks we came out on the short end of the stick but I’ll accept this one with how we battled back from a slow start. Beard realized the lineup that’ll work in the 2H and it almost worked out. Just need to erase this one and get a road win against a surprisingly tough Missouri team next.
-
Also the first time these two teams have met as both being ranked teams. Part of me was kind of surprised by that. I fully expect State to win at home tomorrow but if Ole Miss somehow pulls it out I def have to reevaluate my thoughts on the team. I still see them as a 7/8 seed type of team. A lot of it boils down from still having a sour taste in my mouth from the Memphis showing or lack there of. Need Dia and Brakefield to have another game like they did against Bama and need Pedulla, Murray and Murrell to all put up double figures. Def don’t need any cold shooting from the 3 from those 3. Defensively they just need to keep playing like they have lately in SEC play. Forcing 20+ turnovers against Bama was the key to that win also in the 2H turnaround against Georgia.
-
Since that prior post Tennessee has decided to start the 2H on 26-4 run.
-
That win against Georgia that had Ole Miss fans upset because we didn’t look sharp in the 1H is looking better every game. Since then Georgia has beaten ranked Kentucky, ranked Oklahoma and leads Tennessee at the half on the road.
-
Florida on possible upset alert at home against Missouri down by 11 with 9 mins to play.
-
Road wins are so huge. I predicted 4 early on and none of them are the 2 we have right now so I’m happy RIGHT NOW. That could change quick with an off night against a team you’re favored against. Also gotta protect home court in games you’re suppose to win because every game is crucial this year in the SEC.
-
Crazy what happened when SEC time came around and Beard decided to give Malik Dia more than around 15 mins a game. Last 3 games he’s seen around 27-30 mins and averaging 21 points/11 rebounds. Safe to say you need that guy on the floor as much as possible.
-
The SEC is so tough and crazy this year to where you gotta throw this win out soon as you get on the bus and think about the next gauntlet because one min you’re riding high and next you can get hit in the face.
-
Down here in Bayou La Batre Alabama for captain school and what a time to be sitting in a bar with an Ole Miss hoodie on. I’m an Ole Miss fan though so I know not to get too excited or have lifted expectations.
-
Just remember the name Shekai Mills-Knight. Same kid that started the year as N/R and ended #7 RB in country. I’ll honestly be happy with 9 wins next year because this team is setup for 2026 but it’s got the potential to be better offensively this upcoming year. Defense will be young but talented.
-
Saying it now, Ole Miss will have a better record next year than they did this year. Quote me.
-
Only problem I see with that @Bulldogs4is you need to add Indianapolis and/or Detroit, Minnesota to your locations because you already know north followers will be upset that there’s no game up there and it’s a reasonable gripe.
-
I think SMK will be a day 1 starter at RB and have folks talking after game 1 that didn’t know who he was.
-
After adding Deuce Alexander today this WR group next year will actually be deeper than it was this year. Will that translate to anything? I shrug my shoulders. I do like how this looks though… WR1-De’Zhaun Stribling WR2-Caleb Odom WR3-Caleb Cunningham WR4-Cayden Lee WR5-Deuce Alexander When you have a 5 star top five WR recruit as a WR3 and the guy who led college in reception percentage as WR4, you should have a good group.
