Seth McDonald isn’t your typical coordinator. He’s been a head coach, and would still be a head coach but left to go to a better school. He took Taylorsville to back to back south state championship appearances in his 2 years there. And I actually believe he was calling both the offense and the defense while he was there. That guy is a good dang coach.

If Seth McDonald is interested I would hire him in a heartbeat. Great coach and a great guy. Really, really good guy. He was a head coach at Tville before leaving and going to Petal.

Coaches are not interested in interviewing for a dog and pony show when they all feel like it’s already Corey Reynolds job.

I think you can remove Mitch Evans name from this list. It’s either gonna be Reynolds or Carter, IMO. But more than likely it’s gonna be Reynolds.

Well you know, Carter has been a 4A-7A head coach and also has championship experience. As well as Corey Reynolds. Sounds like it’s between those 2 guys to me

Matter of fact, I have even heard he was on the way to accept the job and the principle made the AD call him and tell him they had given it to someone else. I

I was told he applied for it the first time it came open a couple years ago.

Marcus at one time had considered the idea of retiring at Wayne county and then crossing over the state line into Alabama and coaching over there.

I won’t name drop just because it’s not official, but the guy that’s at the front of the list has been mentioned already in this topic, and has had a lot of small school success. That should pretty much narrow it down for yall.

So the person they look to hire is kind of a big name hire. I’m a little surprised he wanted to go there. He is a good coach though.
