For the second time in history (1995, 2025) all 3 Smith County Schools have made it to south state. In 95 all 3 won South State. I honestly believe small school south Mississippi football has come thru Smith, Jasper, Simpson, Covington, and Jeff Davis County most years.

Seminary was highly underseeded in region predictions. JDC and Mancuso will always player Raleigh harder as long as Hig is the coach at Raleigh. I don’t how Mize stayed with PCS based on their talent. I have to say PCS was soft. Their qb was constantly harassed, sacked and begging for a flag while over and under throwing passes all night long. Any pass that was close and covered well they fall down and here came the yellow hankey. Their receivers didn't like getting hit. Their going to be a team to deal with in the South in 26 and 27. They have 4A size. Its obvious they are taking players from Oak Grove, Perry Central and FCAHS among others.

East Marion played a somewhat tougher schedule than others around them. West Marion and JDC off the top of my head.

There is only 2 things they can do: 1) Drop 7A from 24 down to 20 or 16 and then re-divide 20/16, 24, 24, 40, 40, 40, 53/56 for more 1A football schools. 2) Combine 1A/2A with and upto 64 football schools and re-distribute the first 16 or so of 2A back to 3A etc, etc. and have 2 championship brackets similar to MAIS. Again doesn't make since to most.
