Going to promote a coordinator

That may be a reflection of athletes and not coaching. Could be 1-20 if he's no good.

What are the qualifications to be on this list? There are a lot of guys who are coordinators who have won rings as assistants at multiple schools who just haven't stepped into the head coaching world or are we talking guys in there first 5 years that show potential...

Sometimes it just takes the right situation for a coach to turn great. I know Bo has won state championships as a coordinator and Chris was very young when he was at Richton so he has probably become a much better coach. You can't really go off of the past all of the time.

Some names I heard were Bo Russum, A coach on staff ( maybe a fortenberry), Granger, and heard maybe one of the Coordinators at Oak Grove but do not know all this for sure just rumors

Think his dad coached there as an assistant in like the 70's so I don't think so. Good Hire though. I think he is currently Oak Grove's DC

Who were the candidates?

I would think they do pay better than Covington county.

This isn't a job to draw the attention of any established successful head guys. Are there any coordinators that would be good hires? I think that is the only way to get someone not wanting to just coast until retirement.

Who are some names that are being thrown around for this job?

Does that get Slicks favorite coach another year?

Maybe Eric Booth or Teddy Dyess go home

I'm hearing from some people around Hattiesburg that Lance Mancusso is going to retire this year and may be a front runner to take over that job... Any truth to this you think? could be a great hire and he already knows how to win that league

Who are some people that would be good fits to take his place?

Isn’t Earnest from jones county? I’m not be contrary I’m just curious what qualifies a reject

Also some successful guys at some smaller schools around that may want to move up

I could see Reynolds applying. I think there are some very good coordinators in the area that could be interested in that job that would be hard to not look at.

Who do they play?

This will come down to if OG can take care of the football. The games petal has won in district they have forced multiple turnovers.

This will be the best defense West Jones has seen by far and they have weapons all over the field on offense. Unless they just get completely out schemed somehow I see Burg by 3 scores.

I like this. I have seen some that definitely want to be noticed so lets throw them out there.

Heard there is some bad stuff going on there with the Principal and Super. He may be getting ready to get out. If he does somebody will get a real good coach unless he is ready to retire. Not sure how ole he is.

Didn’t work out for Belicheck and Saban in Cleveland either but doesn’t mean they weren’t head coach material. Just gotta find the right fit. I know that’s pro level but somebody may be a totally different coach from 25-40 once they really learn what they are doing and find their identity.

Cooley is a good guy and was a decent coach from what I heard about him. I think when he was a Raleigh they didn't have a Perkins or Moncrief and he probably did a good job with what he had. Slick who you think will be the next guy if the current one does leave?

That is the only way some of the craziness will stop. Now days because of pressure from outside of the program, coaches are more worried about winning and keeping people from running them down the road than they are teaching discipline and how to be a good person while winning games. Football is the only sport that teaches life lessons like that. If they suspend teams from the post season then coaches will have to focus on discipline a little more at some of these schools.
