I also realize that Carthage absorbed Thomastown & Edinburg, but why couldn't they just stay the Carthage Tigers? If the whole Leake County/Leake Central mascot and color thing was just a coincidence it makes it confusing as heck.

That's a heck of a jump for PRC. Hopefully Picayune learned their lesson LOL. I reckon the 2nd win in 30 years was bound to happen. The schedules should be identical as last year in theory with the home and away reversed, so it shouldn't be any surprises with the non-conference portion unless they couldn't get the Louisiana schools that Picayune and PRC scheduled last year back in the rotation.

Probably so. It's one of those old school public academies like Culkin, Redwood, and Jett were. They could just turn it into a K-8 attendance center and move the high school teachers over to Collins so that way no one loses their job. It would definitely give Collins a little boost at the high school level.

With 7A being currently at 25 and 6A currently at 24, will we see a shift down where one team shifts down to 6A, and one shifting down to 5A, etc. if there’s not a tie?

If it does, that remains to be seen. Biloxi has only made it to the second round of the playoffs 4 times in the MHSAA era. I saw where they made the playoffs this year with three wins and had a quick 0-1 exit. They've never made it to the third round before and if they could ever just go 2-1 in the playoffs, it would be a major accomplishment for them. It's going to take everyone in that community pulling in the same direction for it to happen though.

If Pascagoula goes a different route, that’s perfectly fine and it appears that’s the direction they are going. If opportunities don’t present themselves, that’s okay too. There’s also nothing wrong with advocating for someone who has the experience and is deserving of a destination type job as well.

I'm sure that's a possibility, but Picayune likes to fill the non-region up with challenging 7A opponents and I think Poplarville is back on permanently as well. Then Picayune has the opportunity to fill it with the quality out of state Louisiana teams as well. Who honestly knows what will happen.
