  1. Who's to say that would be the only high profile job to open up? You could have that mad house without that job opening up.
  2. Thanks for the clarification.
  3. I just don't see King leaving Hancock after 1 season, but strange things happen with coaching carousels.
  4. Just send all your old pennies to the MHSAA. They'd appreciate it. It'd be like a Coinstar where you got nothing back.
  5. There probably wasn't a financial incentive to do so. It definitely makes sense, but it may not be making enough cents.
  6. https://www.wlox.com/2026/02/05/game-over-how-nil-could-reshape-mississippi-high-school-sports/ Here's an article.
  7. Just seems kind of odd. You would have thought that the job description would have been approved before it had been posted - not retroactively.
  8. So they have to approve of the job description that had been previously posted on the MHSAA website? Are they able to make amendments or changes to that?
  9. Archer, as an outsider like yourself I want to try to address the two points you have made. When we look at the first point, you mention the word chaos. Where is that chaos coming from and is that chaos on the verge of leaving? Is that chaos going to be around permanently? In life, to achieve the goals you set it shouldn't come easy. There will be some trials and tribulations that you will have to go through, and if you are willing to go through those trials and tribulations there's got to be a reward out there for you. Now to address the second point. I personally do not know what his role was at Ocean Springs, but in the grand scheme of things how he is viewed there should have no bearing on how he is viewed in Waynesboro. Those are two totally different communities. I personally don't think you would have any of his co-workers at Ocean Springs say anything bad about him. I tend to think they would support him however they could. I also think they would want him to be happy and be the best version of himself. He very well could be a rising star, but why would that place have to be Ocean Springs? Ocean Springs has a head coach. What if Pound is needed elsewhere and has a chance to shine elsewhere? How could they not support that?
  10. Last time I checked it was in Harrison County (sandwiched between Pass Christian and Gulfport) and in Region 4-6A. They should still be in Region 4-6A after reclassification I would think. Rebel Bert has them at 669 which puts them behind Picayune at spot 22. I realize that stuff is difficult to interpret.
  11. I bet Brannan is wishing he'd have stayed at Clarkdale coaching football. Wouldn't have had to deal with this.
  12. If not now, then when and with who? This wouldn't fall all on him. He would have a staff as well, and I think he would have a good staff. This would be an opportunity for him to surround himself with experience. He doesn't and shouldn't have to hire a bunch of "Greene" assistants. There would be quality coaches in this state chomping at the bit to come coach for him.
  13. Did New Hope light up too many cigars against Caledonia? Good to see you back.
  14. Well the Board Attorney is going to walk away from this as a fatter cat. I'll take the crumbs.
  15. I think they call that wanting a slice of the pie. The MHSAA would shore hate to miss out on a diabetus special. It’s like the never-ending sweet tooth and a whole new source of sucrose with an endless supply. Watch that be the trade-off to get us to drop a classification or two.
  16. There's not really anything to report right now. Just leave it at that.
  17. Same difference. You can keep him at Heidelberg or Mize doesn't matter.
  18. Then I reckon they'd perk their ears up.
  19. I realize this is probably a trick question, and if I had to answer it correctly I would have to say neither. With that being said though, the MHSAA isn't the one pushing NIL so it puts them on the correct side of this issue by default. Now if those two synergies end up combining on this issue, they can all go jump off a cliff. Someone has to draw a line in the sand somewhere.
  20. Isn't a child, who is a minor, a parent's responsibility? If a child is in school and participating in extra-curricular activities, shouldn't the parents be providing food, water, clothing & shelter for the child? Why should a minor need thousands of dollars to begin with?
  21. If you want to get compensated outside of school, get a dang job. That's what I did and probably what everyone else would do. A little bit of work never hurt anyone.
  22. Why do high school students need to be paid to play football or any other sport for that matter? A public education is a free education.
