I have watched some of the Hattiesburg’s games on streams. They were not all that impressive in a couple games. Yet they handled oak grove easier than the final score indicated. Seems they play up or down to the opponents a bit. And for that reason I think they will be locked in for this one. They want to wash off the turd of a game they played against Wj last year. WJ is and has been quite banged up this year. The defense overall has been very good even after graduating all of last years defense. But they havnt played a complete game. They tend to fall asleep for a quarter or so. They are suspect in one area Hattiesburg’s offense excels at. The offense is the same as last year. Actually scoring more this year. And that’s with the starting qb playing less than 10 total snaps at qb since halftime week 2. Their biggest weakness is at center and right guard where they tend to allow guys in the backfield. WJ has a headhunter at safety/cb/lb or wherever they line him up. He is going to pop some wr’s and that qb too if he decides to take off like he did so much vs terry.

Certainly not as good as the 17 and 18 teams. Those teams had a legit qb. Which also happens to be this years Achilles heel. He almost cost them that terry game.

better coach with better staff this year?? Pretty sure west jones has the same coach and staff that whooped Vance’s butt last year.

Combination of quite a few things. Not the least of which is fans in the players ears. All the way down to youth and pee-wee programs. Filling the kids heads full of nonsense and the coaches can’t break it by the time they get to high school. Also some administration issues as pigskin said from the superintendent office on down going back to the prior staff. There are reasons Todd breland left. And there’s more still. Doesn’t matter who’s coaching them. They likely won’t get a better coach at this point anyway.

Way too late. This been festering for a few years and just now coming to a head. Everyone on the outside paying attention could see it. Laurel and their fans do not. But this won’t go away quickly and it’s much deeper than the coaches.

I know officiating been bad in nfl for a few years. MLB there’s a few blatantly bad ones. Got a bunch here in MHSAA. I don’t know how to fix it. But damn something has to be done.

Hattiesburg probably more looking at west jones and a bit flat for Terry. WJ very flat at PRC so far and wouldn’t surprise me if it’s for similar reasons.

Laurel fans should be. Otherwise they are a 2-3 win team that assuming they made playoffs as a 4 seed they get knocked out in the first round at picayune. And I could have enjoyed their meltdown that much sooner. And, unlike now where they still think they can win 5A south while sitting at 1-7, they would fully understand that they in fact suck.

Everyone did. And they have the talent to do so. But those kids, especially this year, are soft and undisciplined. It could be seen last year, but 5A south being so weak masked it. They do not respond to adversity. If they do not open up a big lead fast their entire body language will change. And it’s been something festering for a while. Their fans have them convinced they are do great they just have to be there to win. And there are numerous kids in jones county schools that know kids that are at Laurel or transferred from Laurel and they talk about how much easier their practices are at Laurel. Last years 7 losses were the beginning of what is to come.

I think the funniest thing is laurel fans still think they are the cream of the crop while being 1-7 and in a must win vs Wayne county. I had high hopes to see them somehow match up with south jones cause I would like to see if SJ could beat them.

My hopes for a laurel vs south jones playoff match likely gone with south jones likely to finish 2nd in division and Laurel may not even make the playoffs. Let alone finish 3rd in their division. They getting handled by vancleave.
