I hope Brookhaven has Laurel by the throat and there’s a running clock in the 2nd half. I want the Laurel faithful to wake up from the dream that they are actually a good team. They aren’t.

I agree that 6A is down a bit this year. But overall it’s still better top to bottom than 5A.

Only because everyone else is sorry. Had we still only had 6 classes and the divisions were as they were prior to 2023, Laurel would not have made the playoffs the last 3 seasons. Let alone made it to south state. Gautier would not have gotten out of the 2nd round last year, maybe not the first.

That’s maybe the primary reason lumberton hasn’t been closed yet. There’s been smoke for a while it would close and the kids roll into purvis. But the rate of growth is higher than anticipated and starting to feed into lumbertons area. There’s also been rumors a couple years of a new high school being built somewhere from highway 589 to Oloh that would take some kids from OG and sumrall. I think sumrall now building a brand new high school to deal with their growth.

Booster clubs can kick in extra I think. Not sure if that counts as salary from the school district.

Started in the spring right after. Went through last season. Another poster on here who’s a sportswriter locally and interviews all the coaches even said a month ago he should not have been back this year after what all went down. Someone was covering for him pretty good.
