That may be the case especially with the intel. I’m just a fan with no direct or heavy ties into the team or coaches.

Remember I didn’t say ever. There is a gap and Willoughby is way before my time. I think there is more to a coach than wins and losses and championships or rather… how I grade them. Some coaches are considered great but are they great or did they hit a gold mine and leave after? Does missing opportunities make you a bad coach or not deserve any accolades? That’s my frustration and why I always throw Vance name out there because he is a great man and great coach. There isn’t a coach in the state right now I would pick over him. That’s my personal opinion.

Brought in? Arrogance? How in the world did you interpret that? Arrogance does not pertain to me in any form or fashion, I’ll take that to the bank. I don’t care who believes what I said. Give me a few weeks? What’s arrogance in that? Should I not think I’ll be watching Hattiesburg at the rock in a few weeks? Everyone always find a way to discredit anything anyone does. If you win it it’s cause the class got bigger and watered down, if they lose it it’ll never get done the cycle goes on and on. I stand by Tony Vance is the best coach in the state. People who think Hattiesburg will lose will stay quiet behind the keyboard until they lose then start firing missles I don’t respect that. That’s arrogance!

People have been trying to run him off for years. If only folks knew the stuff he has had to put up with as a head coach and still be at the helm and keep everything in tact. Season after season disappointments as they come. The morale of what I’m trying to say is that another coach would have not made it as far as he did, they would have flamed out after 2019. But I forgot, it doesn’t matter what you do if you don’t have a gold ball… my bad give me a few weeks. But let’s face it everyone on this board is waiting for Hattiesburg to lose tonight.

Let me correct that. Knight didn’t play when we played them.

This is possibly his first full season starting without being injured and being completely healthy. 2021 injured, 2022 injured latter half of season, last year almost played full season I believe. We will have our hands full with Corder. Outside of Knight he will be the first established QB we have played against all season.

I think we are pretty stout on the defensive line personally. From the looks of it Hattiesburg and Pascagoula sounds to be very similar on offense skilled player wise weapons all over the board. Only difference is Hattiesburg has a 5 star junior receiver.

Given our history with coast teams and our history with Pascagoula, they definitely have the advantage point blank. Hattiesburg has to do these three things and nothing less to be able to win. Win the SPECIAL TEAMS, Win in DISCIPLINE, and Win playing GOOD MENTAL FOOTBALL which we have not done all three the last several games. This is the game I’ve been waiting on since last season.

Since it’s the end of the regular season I’ll end with saying Hattiesburg won’t be dead next season either, we lose a lot but have a good core coming back. We also have a QB that I think can take over for the next two years.

The fact they most of the game we played from behind the sticks and still the job done is jaw dropping.

West Jones committed to stopping the run. Hattiesburg game plan was to play to their weakness and establish passing game. First time all season we slanged it like that.

Biloxi and George County. I don’t count the weak teams. Terry game was a wash from the start. But I look for things deeper than most would. Missed tackles, blown assignments, little things that could bite us when facing a more potent team. I want to see a complete game in all phases against WJ is what I want to see.

I’d be lying if I said I was impressed with the way HHS has played since the OG game, but they have shown me what I need to see. I’m hoping Thursday, a Tiger awakens who like mustang meat.

Will the game be streamed? I won’t be able to make it since it’s on a Thursday

Hattiesburg has been playing great yes. But there is another gear they have yet to kick in. We have not reached our peak.
