Some do,they've got back ups with plenty of playing time though, they only lost 5 seniors, actually 4 because one of those 5 didn't play last year because he blew out his knee before season started, not many seniors this year maybe 7 ,they played a lot of freshman and sophomores and some 8th graders

Taylorsville only graduated 5 seniors from last years team and only 4 played their best receiver that was signed with southern blew out his knee before season started!

So they've hired Lance Pogue as the new head football coach at Columbia?.. this according to Blake Levine at channel 12!

Didn't think Taylorsville had a DC at this time! Hmmmm

There will always be talent in Taylorsville, as long as there's Keys,Magill, Agee ,Pittman,Ducksworth,Hawkins, ect...the genes are still there! They may be down a little but they'll be back! They won 3 of four state championships, '17 '19 '20! In '21 they were put out in the third round be west Lowndes '22 and '23 they were in the south state championships so I wouldn't say they don't have the same talent!

According to national center for education website Taylorsville has 165 students in 8th 9th and 10th grade!

Haven't heard about any moving but wouldn't surprise me, I think they'll still be good

My granddaughter just moved back in march to Taylorsville from Richton after going to Richton in the ninth grade,she's now a Jr and I ask her how many kids have left Taylorsville, she said she knew of only a couple in the sophomore thru senior class had left that went to West Jones but they lived in Summerland on the county line and came to Taylorsville since their mother was and aid there! May be that there's some left in the lower classes but not sure!

I agree ,but I believe with the change of superintendent,a change of the principle is coming also!

With recent events in the superintendents office, and the problems hopefully taken care of,I don't think you'll see the bleedoff of students and teachers leaving Taylorsville that was rumored! I think Taylorsville will make a fairly quick comeback , I think interim superintendent John king should be given the opportunity to be superintendent ,he's a good guy and cares about the kids and school system!

As I said my son played 92 thru 95 and I knew every kid personally, they were at my home almost daily and non were transferred from west Jones, I don't know about the later years!

My son played at Taylorsville in the 90s,graduated in 96 and I don't recall a single player from west Jones being recruited! They didn't need any west Jones players and dominated west Jones for years! If anyone from west went to Taylorsville it was in the end of the 90s!

I had forgotten about Larry Jr, but yea he along with John Jennings played at state

Larry was Jason's dad and assistant coach at Taylorsville under Doug Merchant and Marcus Boyles! Don't remember where he played at!

Sounds like every parent of a mize student should have flooded the school board meeting and should have demanded all 5 supervisors to be present also!

Nowell will just use Taylorsville as a stepping stone ( and to maybe build his character back?) like every other coach has! No I don't blame them ,money is the name of the game and a chance to coach at a bigger classification school also has that appeal!

Actually back in Taylorsville, they don't have a city jail, they have two gas stations and a self serve diesel station, they have five places to get breakfast, two restaurants, two dollar general stores two auto parts stores and 99.9% of all industry in the county!

He gonna have problems if he thinks he wants jump folks in Taylorsville, he'll wish he was back in those stands at Wayne County!
