Mediocre wins that region on the coast. That’s why that entire region has a combined zero appearances in the state championship since 6A was even created. Every other region in the state has had a team in the championship. I’m not yelling. I’m just not sugar coating it. And like I said, he hasn’t won the game that matters at the state level.

I have nothing against Bramlett. I wish him success. I just don’t see why so many are trashing Bramlett and holding Pennock up on a pedestal when he’s never won anything that mattered as a head coach. I’m obviously not a fan of coast football. They are entitled for absolutely no reason. They have their own little coast rankings throughout the year because outside of Picayune they are relatively insignificant to the rest of the state. They trash people for no reason and praise people who have never won more than their garbage region. I’ll shut my mouth as soon as someone in that region at least makes it to the state championship. They all have their entire careers to prove me wrong.

80% of the coaches in the state would have won any classification with Akers. And lets not forget, he DIDN'T win it all even with Mr Football on his team. He's a middle of the pack coach who has been successful with elite talent. His record was boosted because 6A coast football is garbage. They basically had 3 games against decent teams this year. Clinton, Oak Grove, and Brandon. And Brandon wasn't even playing its best football of the season when they won. Overrated coach, overrated team.

They need someone who can efficiently and effectively run an entire 6A athletic program. Or split the job. That school has way too many resources to keep going through Athletic Directors and Principals every couple of years.

Pennock won a lot of games with Akers at Clinton and Hubbard at Ocean Springs. Lets not pretend he's some offensive genius.

The community wanted Bramlett and they got him. The kids seemed to want Bramlett and they got him. Looks like a win to me. He's been the one holding everything together since the season ended. Second guessing with a bunch of "what ifs" doesn't really accomplish anything. This was the best way to keep consistency in the program as well.

Warren Central has always been gritty. Even when we beat them it was a very physical game. Smash mouth football pretty much every time they play.

I don't necessarily think MC vs Brandon is a top "rivalry". While its almost always a good game, its not a division game. I get they are both usually ranked but so are half the teams we play in our own region. The 2 teams have really only met 1 time that mattered and MC won that one. I'd say MC vs Starkville has been more significant lately. It has determined who won the region as well as North State a few times. Years ago MC and South Panola met at North State numerous times but that game has since lost meaning. That's just my opinion. We hear "y'all are our biggest rival" from half the teams we play. I think others see MC a lot different than MC sees them.

I'm not being defensive. I'm simply pointing out that a lot of people who have no idea what they are talking are trying to trash a coach they don't know. They don't know who's interviewed, they don't know who's had offers, they don't know who has ties to who. Some apparently don't even know who calls plays for teams. People in the loop know because they are trusted with information and don't go around running their mouths or trashing people.

What better options have come to interview?

That's his business. If someone hasn't told you then they probably don't trust you to keep your mouth shut about it. He's not the only remaining assistant left at OS. Every other assistant isnt doing what he's doing.

Look at Hinds county alone... That would be a nightmare. JPS can't get its act together by itself, then throw in Terry, Raymond, and Clinton.

He's pretty much who is keeping that program together at the moment. Yes, he called the plays. He's had offers this off season already. You might want to look into these things before jumping to discredit him.

Why does he not?

I think there has been talks of building a 9th grade school for Germantown similar to Rosa Scott or Sumner Hill but I haven't heard of a new school zone.

Completely off topic.... kinda. But some schools down there on the coast get some funds from casinos and some do not. I know that makes a huge difference in facilities and whatnot. I was curious if the Warren County schools get anything from the riverboat casinos.

So all those city schools would suddenly be lumped in with county schools administration wise? That's not gonna fly.

Murrah is no longer a region game since they are independent. That week might change from year to year.

Seeing that definitely brought back some painful memories.Many of us remember the heart breaking tragedy at Greenville. I wish an ambulance was required at all games or at least in the area between schools. They waited 35 minutes for an ambulance. I don't know if it would have changed the outcome, but 35 minutes would definitely make a difference in most life threatening cases.
